The media could not be loaded. ย I love chicken, itโs my favorite food. Bonus, cooking whole chickens is cheap. The downside is cooking a whole chicken takes so much time, insert large pressure cooker. I picked this up strictly because it would hold a whole bird. I wanted one that could fit a turkey but I guess we arenโt quite there yet on pressure cookers ๐ so the directions are solid, I found that it needs more water than it said. The recipe in the recipe book for the whole chicken, my first attempt I added the liquid it said and it ran out of water and burned the honey before it hit pressure. I find 1 cup liquid is about right for the whole chicken. Otherwise I followed the directions exactly (besides seasoning, mines jerk seasoned). 22 min pressure cooked and 18 min air fried. You can see in my photo itโs blackened a bit on the skin but thatโs what I was aiming for.Pros:1. Incredibly fast whole chicken cooking. Including prep, less than an hour. Itโs about 45 min to get it pressure cooked and air fried.2. Two devices in one, no need for cabinet space for an air fryer and pressure cooker.3. The air fryer seems to work better than my other air fryer I purchased previously.4. I havenโt owned another pressure cooker but I watch cooking shows a lot and it seems like the steam release for this one is easy to use and would be pretty hard to burn yourself on unless it was intentional.5. The entire inside part is a removable pot, itโs extremely nonstick so cleaning the pot and lids takes only a few seconds. The only part that takes time is the wire basket.Cons:1. The chicken sticks to that wire mesh basket you see in the photos. It does make air drying the skin amazingly easy but it sticks. Then you have to clean it with a stiff brush or wire brush.2. It does take up quite a bit of room, even replacing two appliances. Itโs tall and is too tall for my cabinets.3. I havenโt been able to get the fries to come out good and crispy yet, like my other air fryer things canโt be touching to get a good crisp. So you would have to do them just a handful of things at a time. So I still think conventional frying is needed for some things.Update:I still love this item. Iโve added some new photos and a video. The new chicken is a Cajun blackening spice blend. One sectioned white onion was added around the raw chicken ( the vegetables, like onion, cook out extra water so when you do the steam release after the pressure cooker be careful and expect a lot of extra steam). A little spice was added to the outside of the raw chicken as well. Pressure cooked high pressure 400 degrees for 22 min, then removed basted with melted butter and blackening spice, then air fried for 17 min at 400. The chicken is so tender the bones pull right out. This is the best way to cook a chicken. This is coming from someone who owns grills, smokers, Dutch ovens, a sous vide, and pretty much every other kitchen gadget to cook them.

Purchased this appliance on Prime Day due to so many great reviews and the company’s reputation for quality products. When it arrived I did the 5 minute water test, then proceeded to try the different cooking functions. Pressure cooker, air fryer and rice cooker functions all work fine and produced some excellent dishes. Slow cooker works. However, the saute button fails to stay on for more than a few seconds, then shuts off. I called the company and talked to a customer service rep, hoping to get more information on getting the saute feature to work. She promised to get back to me within 72 hours after talking to her supervisor. So far I’ve heard nothing from the company and am thinking of returning the appliance before the return date is up.Very disappointing to think about returning an otherwise decent appliance. Also, forget about that recipe book included, the instructions are all wrong. I tried the cheddar corn bread and it failed to cook through, burned top, raw middle, because the temperature was too low. So many good recipes available on internet.UPDATE: Shortly after writing this review I received a call from CSS customer service. Very good customer representative arranged to have a replacement of same model sent out. When it arrived I put it through a pressure cook test (works fine) but once again the saute button doesn’t work. Same problem. I must compliment CSS customer service, prompt, polite service, too bad machine has this flaw as it is an otherwise excellent multi-cooker. Must be a batch with a defective part.

This was absolutely great …..until it wasnt. I hardly ever used it and it sat on my kitchen counter most of the time. When I did use it, it worked well and was extremely easy to clean. Yesterday, I pulled it to air fry. It came on fine. I set the time and the temp. 20 minutes later my frozen egg roll is still frozen. I worked with it for 15 mind and could not get the air fryer to work. I had been about 2 months since I used it so I pulled on the manual to make sure I hadn’t forgot how to turn it on. Still nothing. I have only had this product 7 months and I hardly use it at all. I am so disappointed. I had high hopes for this machine.EDIT:I contacted the seller and explained the situation. I asked if I could purchase just the airfryer top. They were kind enough to send me a whole new unit. I have said this once and ill say it again.. customer service goes a long way in my book. They were super friendly and I received the new unit right away. Because of how this was handled, I will add two stars back. Now, if the airfryer top stops working again… I may have to do another update.
