I read hundreds of reviews before deciding to purchase this rice cooker, and decided on this one due to it having a stainless steel interior, was dual-purpose – it could steam, and it was the right size for our small household. It is easy to clean and the capacity is perfect for us, but it takes foooorrrreeeeverrrrr to cook rice and/steam. Like 45-60 minutesโฆ I absolutely hate the feature it has where every time you remove the lid to check on the food, or even as youโre preheating it, it automatically switches from โcookโ to โwarmโโฆeven when youโre not finished cooking your food. To override this feature, you either donโt lift the lid (at all) or you have to turn it off then back on again and remember not to lift the lid. UGH! After 3 uses, it never overflowed as many people complain about with rice cookers – I believe 99.9% of the time thatโs human error when they put too much liquid in. To save time, I have resorted back to steaming vegetables and cooking rice in my stainless steel pot/steamer on the stove, and this lovely, yet worthless, kitchen appliance now sits on my counter collecting dust and waiting for me to come to peace with the loss of $50 and send it to Goodwill. Save your money!

Stainless steel inner pot is not easy to clean. Need to soak it in soapy water before cleaning. But itโs a good trade off because the stainless is more healthier than most of of the nonstick black coating on the inner pot.

I like this product most of all because after years of using my old Teflon coated rice cooker bowl, the coating has chipped off considerably and ended up most likely in my rice and in my body. Forever chemicals are real! I was concerned this would be harder to clean but in reality it’s even easier because I can scrub the crap out of the stainless steel rather than tip toe around Teflon. Great product, very satisfied.

I have owned the rice cooker only version of this for decades. Great price. Perfect rice. What more could I ask of a kitchen helper? After giving my treasured cooker to a friend who needed it, this time, I let the rice cooker introduce me to its friend, the steamer. Same controls…maybe a nice opportunity to healthy cook a few more veggies in a small ecological footprint will be the reward. I will give it a company try.

I’ve only used this rice cooker twice to make jasmine rice, but it does a great job. I’ve left it on the warm function for over half an hour until the rest of my food was done and the rice wasn’t dried out, burnt, or otherwise negatively impacted by the dwell time post cooking.

it is supposed to be able to make 6 cups of rice. It does, but it raises out of the pan in the final stages and spills water out. The container needs to be bigger. And the rice is hard to get out of the pan. It sticks to the bottom. You really have to dig and scrap to clean the pan. I am not happy. I am looking for a better choice.
