No, it doesn’t have a timer, adjustable temperature, or a fancy chime. It’s not very big, either, and sometimes rice at the edges are a little too crispy. But guess what? It works. It gives me a heaving helping of tasty rice in 15-25 minutes. I can even steam vegetables with it while all that goes down. For only about $20, that’s a pretty good deal.If you’re having issues getting these results, look up the finger trick for how much water to use.

1. This cooker is very tiny, that’s personally perfect for me because I’m cooking for 2 but just something to note. It does make cleanup and storage very very easy. If you’re feeling lazy and just wanna toss the cooker bowl in the fridge you can do it without it taking up much space. (I won’t judge you)2. The cooker definitely doesn’t FEEL super sturdy. It’s a $20 rice cooker so that’s expected. This isn’t a high quality cooker if that’s what you want get a Tiger or something. I’m a law school student living in a studio. So if this cooker lasts me 1-2 years I’ll be happy because I couldn’t imagine this little thing lasting longer than that. Once again it’s only $20.3. All that being said it works great! I made about a cup or so of rice before I went to bed so I could make crispy rice tomorrow. It came out in about 20 minutes and it was great. I’m excited to use it to make all different kinds of stews, and the steamer basket will be great for dumplings and vegetables. With reasonable expectations of what you’re buying this cooker is a 5/5 for its price. A cheap, tiny, but efficient rice cooker that realistically probably doesn’t have a lot of longevity. I’ll update my review if it randomly stops working.

While using this rice cooker for 3 month I found something that makes me not like it. First off when the rice starts cooking there are bubbles forming and it goes to the top and can make a mess. Secondly once the rice is cooked and at warm when you leave it there for a long time the bottom starts to become hard and stick together. But overall itโs a decent rice cooker if you need something cheap.

It works perfecly fine to me, small but big enough for 1 to 2 people. However, I dont think its a new one because I noticed it has stratches in the cooker and the steamer both inside and outside in the first day I used.

So, we had an older, similar, inexpensive rice cooker that died. We got plenty of service out of it and it lasted longer than we thought it would. Now in our 70s, we decided we donโt need a better one, so ordered this inexpensive model. It works exactly the same as our older model didโฆmeaning, the best thing to do is start it, let it cook until the โfoamโ almost reaches the glass lid, then unplug it and wait 20 minutes. You will then have perfect Basmati rice. We donโt know about any other kind of rice because we do not buy any. Weโve tried making rice in our Instant Pot, and prefer the results of this inexpensive rice cooker. If you donโt care if it doesnโt last over ten years, there is no sense spending more money, just get this one.
