   When I first got it and had it set on medium the heat light would shut off and I thought it was like a stove that was always on when the knob is set above off. Turns out when it’s already at the temperature set the heat light shuts off to say it’s not currently heating it up more. I don’t use the lid ever. Cleanup is super easy. I use the same broth for a week and the split pot isn’t an issue I just add water to one side and use it as a smaller pot. Haven’t tried the dishwasher yet. It’s a fantastic relaxing way to make food and to eat more vegetables. Super delicious. I use little sheep spicy broth and normal supermarket vegetables— no specialty shops. Haven’t found a good replacement for the super thin slices of beef and lamb at a restaurant but the simplicity and effort involved in a delicious meal is still super worth it.

   My Sister-in-Law is Thai, and turned us on to Hot Pot cooking. As the instructions clearly say, fill the other side with water if only using one side to cook, and it does smell when heated the first time. Don’t be put off by “instructions-non-readers.” Beach-Too-Sandy-Ocean-Too-Wet? It’s a fun family way to cook and eat, as well as making food choices easy by doing meat on one side and seafood only on the other, which we do.

   Easy to clean, and the temperature options are great for pretty spot on.The highest heat level is good for pre heat obviously, but the second highest heat level is perfect for enjoying your meal.

   Calcium deposits after initial boiling of water to clean the pot is stuck to the bottom of the pot and is not easy to remove it.

   It is bigger than it looks. Easy to use. I only wish it had duo power control but that’s probably the issue of most hot pot design. I recommend the product.
