I bought this skillet after weeks of very careful research on Amazon and other sites. I have been TOTALLY pleased, in all ways, with this well-built, well-designed skillet.As with all electric skillets, the heating element goes around an under-pan tub. The element is evenly distributed–about equidistant from the outer edge to the pan’s center. The heat from the element is very evenly dispersed throughout the cooking time.The control is temperature-sensitive and goes on and off as foods cook, keeping the temperature just where it should be at all times.The lid is lightweight and fits the pan very well. If I need a little steam to escape (which it doesn’t when the lid is seated), I move the lid just a bit off-center, resting it lightly on one of the handles. The pan cooks perfectly for lid-on or lid-partly-off, or lid-off applications.The handles are not scratchy at the bottom–therefore protecting my counter.The non-scratch (teflon, I believe) coating is perfect. I’ve been using this pan, now, for over a month, nearly every day, using nylon cooking utensils, and there are only the very slightest scratches in the surface, with absolutely no flaking or peeling. The surface is still perfectly smooth and doesn’t present any reason to believe that it will not continue to be the same at least for a good long time.Cleanup is SUPER easy, with just a sponge. I don’t even need to use a 3M pad–even for the one time I burned some rice on the bottom of the pan (due to my negligence, not to the pan itself malfunctioning in any way).I’ve also successfully used this pan for baking biscuits, by turning a lightweight square broiling pan upside down in the skillet, greasing it slightly, then adding the biscuits to that surface. With the lid on, the biscuits bake perfectly, in about 15 minutes. Hooray!

I’d give this skillet 10 stars. I’ve been using a skillet like this for 2 years everyday, at least twice a day (we don’t own a stove/oven) so this is how I make food 100% of the time and it is excellent! So easy to clean, nothing sticks to it, I use a paper towel to clean any extra food left in. The only thing about this that is hard is temperature control, it heats up hot and cooks fast, you’ll catch on after a couple tries, I suggest cooking potatoes to learn.

I used it to cook my daily meals. Actually baked biscuits; It cleans without scrubbing. Boil spaghetti in it, drain and add a meat and sauce and its a one pan dinner. Well worth what I paid for it.

Definite hot spots, but works great. Says it can be fully immersed but couldn’t find information for dishwasher safe/unsafe.

So far the only thing I have a problem with is the cord Is way to short it cook good evenly remember you can only wash lid in dishwasher not the pan so far so good.
