Finding a 5 quart size crockpot was nearly impossible so when I came across this one, I was a bit skeptical since I didn’t even know Betty Crocker made slow cookers. After reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. The slow cooker arrived in good shape and included the lid locking rubber band and the transporting bag (this bag was a huge selling point for me). I washed the crock (which is removable) and the lid and then gave it a try. I put some homemade soup in there and turned it on high. After a few hours it started to boil. I did feel like it took a little longer to “heat up” to “high/boiling” so those who said this runs overly hot, I’d have to disagree a bit. Once it got to “boiling” it seemed to really heat things thru well, but not to the point of overcooking at all (I should mention that I was home monitoring this very closely so I wouldn’t recommend leaving this unattended for hours on end on “high”) and I didn’t have to wait much longer for the soup to be done once it got to that point. It did take a few hours for it to really get really “hot”, though. I’m used to my smaller slow cookers that heat up super fast but it might be because this is much larger, which would make sense. The slow cooker is a darker red color and the removeable crock is black. It’s beautiful. After I was done using it, it was super easy to clean (I believe you can put it in the dishwasher but I hand washed it). I didn’t notice any food sticking and just used a non abrasive sponge and some dishwashing liquid and voila, I was done. The carrying bag is really nice. It’s insulated and looks well made. The rubber band piece to secure the lid is ok, but I don’t see that lasting as long but I guess we’ll see. If you are looking for a nice medium sized crock pot with accessories, I would highly recommend this.

Great product- I don’t know if it’s just the one we received, but it cooks awfully fast, even on low. I guess it just runs hot.

The media could not be loaded. Love my new Betty Crocker slow cooker, perfect size, beautiful color Red, it has a great insulated Carrying case and comes with a band that secures the lid at the top. Well made, super reasonable price and much nicer then more expensive ones I’ve seen! I’ve used it 3 times so far and highly recommended it!

Very nice crockpot. But the lid fits poorly and has no gasket so, despite the rubber band to secure the lid for transport, should the pot tip even a few degrees, any liquid leaks out into the carrier bag making a big (and difficult to clean) mess in the bag. Plus the bag handle tore the bag the first time I used it with contents in it. (To be fair, BC replaced the bag, no questions asked). I suggest putting plastic wrap over the contents before putting on the lid for transport. Maybe multiple layers to create a leak-proof gasket. Or perhaps BC could create a removable/washable gasket?

I looked long for a smaller crock pot. I like this item a lot but I agree with one reviewer who says it runs a little hot even on a low temperature . If you can that means adjusting the cook time. It has done a good job for our meals I haven’t had it that long but have used it almost 1 or 2 times weekly.
