The good: It’s big. It’s economical. It’s easy to wash. The not so good: 1. You have to have a knack pouring it to overcome the surface tension. Why companies can’t figure this out with a pouring utensil beats me. 2. Wish it had measurements on the side. You’re left to eyeball it when you don’t want a full pot. No, I’m not getting out another dish to do it. No, I’m not marking it, that’s why I’m complaining. Who has time for that? It should be part of design. 3. The top will fit only one way and that means the open slots let the heat out.

I bought this bodum after years of making coffee in a larger one. I thought a single cup model might be easier to clean than the one I had, not that the other one was that hard to clean. In fact the small one is not easier to clean, perhaps even a bit more difficult. That’s not a huge problem. This one is tiny, BARELY big enough to make one mug of coffee. I use about 25 grams of coffee and that barely leaves room for about 300ml of water. I have to be careful because when I put the plunger and lid on it will push out some water if there is too much water. And after pressing the grounds I have to be careful pouring the coffee because plunger does not go down far enough to keep the lid on tight. So my advice is buy this model if you want to save cabinet or counter space, or in luggage for travelling.

I started using my Boden 8 cup French press to make cold brew coffee but I found that I was having to make it every 3 to 4 days. I decided to get a larger press so maybe Iโll only have to make it once a week. The size is deceptive, because 8 cups is actually 8 4ounce cups and the reservoir only holds 4 cups of water with an inch to an 1 1/2 of coffee on the bottom. With one cup of coffee to 4 cups of water, the cold brew coffee has an excellent flavor and I would recommend either size to anyone who wants to make cold brew coffee.

The product is simple to use. Throw in the coffee grounds (course grind), pour in the heated water, time it for 4 minutes and push down the filter press. You are done. It is also easy to clean, too.I like that the filter screen has a metal center, I’ve combined it with a smaller Bodum press filter and I think it does an even better job of filtering out the grounds. The 1.5-liter carafe is better if you are making coffee for 2 or more. The 1-liter makes enough for 1 person to have 2.5 cups with some left over, but not enough for more than one. Who can only drink 1 cup of coffee? My only complaint is I wish there were fill markings on the side of the carafe.

Works great but when you make and have French press up to brew, I cannot fit easily in my fridge! Once press is down it is fine. Over all it is nice but found another option that works better for me

We bought this as a replacement for two smaller French Press. This is way better. Easy to use. Convenient for me and my partner as he usually makes his coffee first in the morning but I can quickly clean it and start a new pot later when I’m ready. I love the size. I only wish there were measuring lines on it for coffee and water.

I wanted an inexpensive press for making Crio brew. It works great! The glass seems very sturdy, the mesh screen catches all particles. The brew comes out quite clear. (This is my very first French press, so I have nothing to compare it to.)
