   I got this opener to replace an Oster model. I have actually had two openers made by Oster. I finally got fed up with the Oster openers losing their charge.This opener is hefty and has a substantial weight to it when held. I have opened around a dozen bottles with it so far.Here are my impressions:* I like the stainless steel design but for some reason not as much a fan of the blue LED.* The corkscrew on this opener is a lot thicker than the Oster so there is more cork damage when opening.* The Chefman does open consistently and has enough torque for tough corks or the synthetic ones.* The foil cutter that comes with this opener is among the first I’ve had that actually cuts cleanly through foils.* It is a bit cumbersome to get the opener back on the charger stand. The Oster would click in place and this one more or less sits on the base and will illuminate the tacky blue LED when good contact is made.* The plus/transformer is a bit large to put behind furniture so you’ll need an extension to keep it from interfering with furniture (i.e. my wine cabinet).Overall – this holds its charge well and opens well. I have not had the Chefman long enough to know how the battery will last. So far I am pleased with its appearance and performance. It travels well and does a decent job of uncorking wines.

   I bought this to replace my old one that just slowly died, and I just love it. It holds a charge for a long time, feels good in the hands, is not heavy, and is just a nice product. I would love it if this was a gift to me! A good price and this feels like something that will last a long time. It was received in the time frame advised in fine condition; I am satisfied with my purchase.

   ordering another , my wife thinks this is better than most presents lol . for the men out there that want to make there wives happy with a gift they will use everytime they need a fresh bottle opened , no more missing kick – off lol and even if you still get it , it takes 10 seconds . no searching for the wine opener anymore . this and a 1k gift card to your wives favorite nail salon and your big Xmas or whatever is taken care of and your wife will love you every two weeks when they treat her like a rock star and the other wives that were there when you bought it tell stories about you the rest of their lives lol 🙂 Most Importantly to see how happy your wife is for most of the year makes this and that my favorite gift combo , change it up from jewelry .

   I saw numerous bad reviews. First, if you don’t know how to use a regular corkscrew, this one won’t help you much. I have now opened over three hundred bottles with virtually no problems. It doesn’t work very well with plastic corks as they’re too slippery and rotate in the bottle. If you’re opening a real bottle of wine, it works just fine!
