The size of this cooktop is very nice, it was just what I was looking for. However, the functionality as well as the fit and finish just isn’t there. Feels like a lower quality item overall as well. The first thing I noticed after plugging it in is that the fan is quite loud. I was expecting a purr based on other units I have seen in stores. After putting a pan on, there was a vibration with the pan that I couldn’t explain. I have no idea how induction works, but the pan I used never did that with another induction cooktop.I don’t have scientific evidence of this, but the heat seemed low for the setting. It didn’t seem to be very effective.Lastly, you know when you hold an item and just think that it’s fairly low quality…well, that’s how I felt with this cooktop.Note that I’m not a cooktop expert by any stretch. These are just my observations as a lay person. Regardless of the lower quality feel…if it had functioned as expected, I would have kept it. However, I have returned this item.

The media could not be loaded. ย This review may read a little confusing but my video may help you understand what I’m trying to explain in text about this product. Here’s my text review: This unit lets you control wattage from 200W-1800W. Nice feature if your in a camper/RV, to be able to control an appliance’s wattage. The temperature control adjust the temp in 36*F increments, which is 20*Celsius increments. Temps range from 140*-464*F, and gives you 10 preset temp. levels. The cook circle is approximately 6.75″ and can accommodate 5″-10″ pots and pans. It heats up quickly and evenly and cools down quickly. The reason I’m taking a star is because the temperature increment jump is set up to be more Celsius friendly but reads in Fahrenheit. (Not sure why they mixed the two units of measurement instead of sticking with one or the other or making it to where you could choose one system or the other.) Most of my recipes calls for 25* Fahrenheit adjustments like 300*F, 325*, 350* and so on. The 36* temperature jump makes it a little less accurate to adjust the temp. to recipes in the US. This unit displays the temperature in Fahrenheit, but the 10 preset temperatures levels are odd and do not match up with the standard settings for Fahrenheit cooking that we use in the US. The preset temperature levels on this unit are 140*, 176*, 212*, 248*, 284*, 320*, 356*, 392*, 428*, 464*. So If your recipe calls for a setting of 375*F the closest you could get is ether 356*F or 392*F, Which of course is fine where stove top cooking is concerned because we use Low, medium and high when stove top cooking a lot of the time but I think if they made this unit’s temperatures start at 150*F instead of 140* and jumped in 25* or 50* increments, instead of 36* increments, this would match our measurement of temperature more accurately and make this unit more user friendly here in the states.

I got this cooktop as a supplement to the other single-burner induction cooktop we own. Our main gas cooktop is not functional, and before we buy an expensive 36โ induction cooktop, we thought it would be a great idea to try the technology out first on a portable model. However, itโs been hard to get by with just one burner, so we tried a second. This cooktop is sleek looking, and itโs great that the cooking area is only hot underneath where the pan is. I thought it was interesting that there was wattage control, in addition to temperature control. However, I did not like that the temperature couldnโt be adjusted to whatever temp we desired. The temperature was only able to go up or down in 20 degree increments, which we found was sometimes too much, and sometimes too little.Hereโs where our major problem lied: every time we used it, it would trip the GFCI outlet and circuit breaker! Perhaps it was too much wattage to use at the same time as our other cooktop? We tried lowering the wattage and it still turned the entire outlet (and circuit) off. So we are back to using our old cooktop and using one pan at a time. Really disappointed, since I wanted to be able to use both at the same time.
