The media could not be loaded. I’d received my Crenova Wine Kit today. i’d been looking for a set that included an electric opener and aerator. This kit comes with those as well as a vacuum stopper and a foil cutter. The set comes in a nice box that would be suitable as a gift. It includes instructions in clear English, though most of the components are self-explanatory. The electric opener has a micro-USB cable for charging. It arrived with almost a full charge but I left it for an hour to fully charge.I had a bottle of Tuscan red wine that I wanted to try so this was a good time to see how the wine set performed. Removal of the top of the foil capsule was a cinch. The corkscrew easily removed the cork. The bottle I opened was a 2016 so the cork was quite firm. Ejection of the cork was easily accomplished by pressing the top half of the rocker switch. I haven’t tried it on a denser synthetic cork but judging by the power of the motor, I suspect it won’t have a problem. The aerator worked very well. You can see the aeration process from the side and it’s quite vigorous. On those rare occasions when a bottle needs to be sealed for another day, I’ve been using a vacuvin system. The Crenova kit comes with a stopper that has a built in manual vacuum pump on it. This was the only flaw in the system. The pump works and the stopper seems to hold a decent vacuum for the short term, but by the next morning the stopper had leaked and there was no longer any vacuum. I seated the stopper quite firmly so suspect it’s leaking through the vacuum pump assembly. It could be that my kit came with a faulty pump/stopper.Overall, I like this kit so far. I had another more expensive electric corkscrew and it died quite quickly and was more expensive without the accessories that the Crenova kit comes with. It needs a better vacuum stopper to ensure that wines don’t oxidize while stored for a day or so.

The media could not be loaded. Got this ‘wine gift set’ recently. I was pleasantly surprised from the get go. It came in very nice packaging, as you can see in the pictures, giving it a ‘premium look’ making it very suitable as a gift set. Looking at the items one by one- most people are going to buy this for the wine opener – Looks and feels very nice in hand and works very well. The indicator light is a nice feature that I haven’t seen many other openers. Blinks blue when it opens and red when it is done. One point to note – this is a rechargeable wine opener, means one will have to recharge once in a while. I haven’t had it long enough to comment about how long it is going to last with one charge. Some people may prefer the battery operated ones while some others may prefer having a rechargeable one so that they don’t have to deal with batteries – so it may be a personal preference. For me, it would come to how often this is going to last with each recharge, if I have to recharge it every other week, I may prefer the battery operated ones, other wise this would be better. The package also included foil cutter, vacuum pump/stopper, aerator etc. All of these works pretty good. One thing to note about the wine saver is that, this is the kind with the pump right on the stopper. It looks elegant comparing to the rubber stopper/pump set that I usually use, but at the same time, since this pump is small ( it has to be small since it is part of the stopper), it takes more ‘pumping’ to get to the same vacuum level.Overall I am impressed by how elegant each item in this gift set looks.

I am so impressed with this set. I have owned several wine bottle openers in my lifetime. Some high end and some on the lower and middle end. In fact, I was gifted a Brookstone one a few months ago and it was awful! That’s the reason why I got this one.I LOVE IT! Why is it so good?1. It is pretty and sleek. There’s a clear part where the cork goes up so you can see exactly how long you need to hold it for. When it is going up, it’s blue. When releasing the cork, it’s red.2. Light. It’s not too long and not heavy. It’s the perfect size and weight really. It also stores nicely because of that.3. Quick. You can remove your cork in mere seconds (I didn’t time it, but I would guess it took about 3 seconds).4. Accessories. Now this is just a bonus because I would’ve paid this amount for just the wine opener. The aerator is really easy to clean and assemble and makes pouring the wine a very “classy” experience. Also, no drips. Did it make my wine taste better? No idea! But I use it anyway! The vacuum stopper is great – does exactly what it should do. And the foil cutter is at the bottom of the wine opener so it’s not an additional piece that you could lose PLUS, it acts like a safety so the screw won’t poke you if you are searching in your drawer.Overall, I’m very happy with this unit and cannot recommend this enough. It’s also packaged nicely with instructions in English and German.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the Crenova 4-in-1 Electronic Wine Opener. I was worried because many reviews for other openers called out weak motors, and the opener not being able to extract the cork. I waited a while after receiving my opener to write a review. I’ve opened over a dozen bottles on the first charge with only one problem. On her first try using the Crenova opener, she did no hold the unit straight up and down (for the purists, the device was not plumb with the bottle) so the corkscrew went in at an angle. This was the only time it has failed to remove a cork. I showed her how it should be plumb and straight, and no more problems. It still has a decent charge. This is a keeper. The base acts as a foil cutter and works pretty well as long as you have a bit of hand strength. I haven’t tried the aerator yet (mainly because I’m in the habit of putting the original cork back in after pouring. Also I would need to remove the aerator for the wine to fit in the door shelf in the refrigerator.
