I’ve always heard positive things about juicing, so I’ve decided to give it a try. Of course, to do that I needed a juicer. After doing some research, I’ve decided to go with the Dash Slow Juicer, because my countertop space is very limited. I’ve read that it is small, but how small I only realized when I’ve assembled it togetherโit is very small but very efficient! (See pictures).Be sure to read the product manual before using. It has important info on what can be used in this juicer and what can’t. It also will give you an idea of how long you can juice for before it (and yes it does) needs a break. Be sure to register your item for extended warranty. This juicer is extremely compact, so don’t expect a heavy duty motor in it, although it is still not a slouch. But you still can kill the motor from over working it.This juicer is straight forward to dis/assemble. It comes with a little cleaning brush, which makes cleaning it a breeze (don’t loose it!).The shoot is pretty narrow, thus you’ll need to cut your fruits and veggies into smaller pieces (could be a hassle for those that have no patience). The waste window is tiny and gets clogged up easily if fibrous veggies are used. However, I overlook these little drawbacks, because of how efficient this juicer is, and did I mention that it is small?! The waste comes out almost dry (see pictures), which means that it gets the most juice out of your fruits and veggies.I would recommend this juicer for the beginners that are just starting to explore juicing and are limited on space. This juicer will not suit your needs if you are constantly juicing, or juicing for several servings at a time, or if you have more than 2 people that enjoy fresh squeezed juice.FYI: this is my second juicer. First one died in 2 weeks, but was replaced by Amazon in 2 days at no charge.Edit 5/2022: pay close attention to the waste shoot, especially when juicing fibrous fruits and veggies. If you don’t see waste coming out continuously as you juice, STOP juicing and take apart the juicer to clean the waste shoot. Otherwise the waste will get too compact and you’ll have a (VERY) hard time taking it apart.

It’s a good little juicer. Much like most Dash products it is made and designed well, with few faults. It takes harder fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens with aplomb. The juice is always very fresh and vibrant, it’s also filtered well, leaving very little pulp behind. So far I have juiced wheatgrass, kale, apples, oranges, spinach, ginger, strawberries and cucumbers. Probably more but those are the ones I can think of the top of my head.I have also used the frozen attachment with mixed fruits and mostly bananas. It turns them into a soft-serve-like consistency, and is great when your craving something like ice cream but are trying to avoid the calories, or in my case, too much dairy.Cleaning has been very easy. I understand some people had some problems, I must simple say to all, read the manual. Everything comes apart for easy cleaning, and they provide a brush to help. It’s not clear as to whether or not you can put them into the dishwasher, however it does not take long to hand wash. So I overall that’s fine. Overall it’s good! I do have a couple annoying things about it though.First, it does not like anything that is too soft. It simple won’t separate the pulp and cloggs. It does also state this in the manual, but I want to make sure I mentioned it too, because many slow juicers have the same problem with softer foods. Oranges, peaches, mango, kiwin, etc… Can clog very easily. You have to alternate small amounts of them with larger amount of hard food like apple, carrots, and such. Rule of thumb is watching your fiber and starch content. Starchy items like mango and kiwin will clog, where as fiberous items like ginger and kale will move through no problem. I also believe this is only as much of a problem because there is no way to bypass the silicone “pressure plug”.It’s there to ensure your getting the most juice, but when using softer fruits and vegetables, it prevents the pulp from exiting the machine. If they added a bypass plug or a softer plug of sorts, it would most likely fix the problem. I would say to leave it un-plugged, and that actually does help, but then it leaks juice. It’s isn’t a huge deal, but know that all slow juicers like harder foods.Second, I also believe it would clogg less if the actual filter screen was larger. Due to it being only a single area, it can get backed up slightly. Again this is only a problem when using softer fruits and veg, but I felt I should make a note.Third and final complaint is that when using the forzen fruit “screen”, it holds a lot of the fruit in. I again because it’s due to the firm pressure plug. But the actual chamber design can hold the fruit too. It’s not a problem when making a bowl of something, but if you want a small amount you will spend most of the time cleaning it out of the machine. But also, this is a common complaint with every frozen fruit maker I’ve used, so I want surprisedOver all it’s good machine! It is just small, and has it’s limits, so don’t expect an Omega, Hurom, or Kuvings. It’s does a fine job and is plenty powerful for it’s size!

Using the sorbet function burned out the motor. The frozen fruit just was too much for the motor to handle. I was so excited to use that mode and thought it was a great concept but as others have reported, it caused the whole motor to break down so now I can’t even use it for juicing! Now it’s past the return date. I’m pretty upset about that. Otherwise, it worked great as a juicer. They really shouldn’t be promoting this as a sorbet maker. Just sell it as a juicer.

I really like this item but realized itโs hard to clean after use with certain vegetables. I used turmeric and it was so hard to clean that I was looking for spare parts. From what Iโve read thereโs no parts you can buy. Itโs easy to assemble and take apart for cleaning. It even works better than a more expensive juicer Iโve purchased. You definitely get more of the juice with less of the mess. The only down fall is cleaning it properly to avoid bacteria build up. I will not purchase again but will continue to use it. To the product owners, please make spare parts. Customers will continue to purchase if they could swap out the parts.

Someone else mentioned the problem of the pieces getting stuck in the machine and failing to feed. This is why. This plastic nub sticking out shown in the first pic at 8 o’clock position. Doesn’t matter how small you cut your pieces, many will get caught. It’s outright annoying.Apparently the design engineers felt is was necessary for the integrity of the product. And for those of us with old eyes and may need glasses, this small rubber piece used over the cleaning port, you first might not even know it’s there. Maybe I missed it glossing over the directions?Helps to run the juicer in reverse before disassembly. Easy rinse and clean.Overall, quite pleased.
