Let’s get the important and obvious out of the way : This is not a machine that can make you some coffee real quick, or that you can turn on, walk away and come back later to see coffee ready in a pot and the machine turned off automatically.This is a machine that needs you hovering around it, and babysitting it, so it doesn’t overflow or worse.That said, it is pretty easy to use once you figure out the controls. Took me a few tries to get the coffee right.The amount of plastic in it is disappointing, but for a good espresso machine around $100, you can’t go wrong with this machine as long as you know what you’re getting into.My understanding is, the “downsides” I mentioned above are additional features that cost more money.Which makes sense. But the time it takes to be ready to brew the coffee and the even longer time it takes to build pressure for cappuccino, cost it a star in my review.

UpdateIt’s been a few months. Still really like it. Tried the all in one and returned because it leaked. This one has knobs vs buttons so less to malfunction. Once u get hang of it it’s super easy.A few tips. Like all coffee fresh ground is best so get a grinder. Heed the instructions on descaling once a month. Makes a big difference. It’s a decent machine for the money.I’ve only had a few days but it’s a great product for the price point. It’s easy to use and makes good espresso. The porta filter basket can be hard to insert. As others mentioned it is a manual machine that requires your attention. I usually heat it up before I shower in the morning then make the espresso. U must shut it off yourself or it will keep going. Frother works well but steamer takes a awhile to heat up which lags. Instead I bought a small stand alone steamer/ frother and now my coffee and milk are done st sane time. Considering the next level up is $600+ it is a nice machine for the money. Recommend old school medallia d’oro ground espresso.

I bought my espresso machine back in April so I’ve been using it for about 6 months now on an almost daily basis. For me the machine works perfectly fine, it’s not the best espresso machine I’ve ever used but considering the price I think it was well worth it.It takes a moment to start up, and that can be frustrating, but it’s a minor annoyance at best. The machine itself is also pretty loud when brewing but not any more obnoxious than other machines like keurig. As for the espresso itself the pulls are fine, my machine has had no issues with the way it runs and has given me virtually no trouble.As for “is it easy to use” I would say yes but I’ve had several people over who have been absolutely stumped by it. I think if you’re someone who has never used a machine like this, once you learn it becomes game changing but Google some stuff first to make sure you’re getting what you want.Personally I got this because I was tired of wanting espresso but not having the money to go out and buy $5 coffees. I don’t have the money to splurge on something crazy expensive with all the works, and this specific machine was within my budget and has been very reliable in making my coffee. If you’re looking for perfection this isn’t it, but if you’re looking to save money in the long run and get into coffee at home this is a great start.

I absolutely love this espresso machine. I pretty much use it every day that I can. It’s easy to use, and I bought some extra tools to make the process even better. The plastic tamper/scooper that comes with the machine is not so great but then again, what do you expect?There is one big problem that I have, though. When I use the double basket, and I load two level scoops of espresso grounds into it, it overflows the basket! The double shot basket does not fit a double shot worth of espresso. What?!?! I’ve resorted to buying a dosing funnel, and I have to try and “pre-tamp” the grounds with the funnel still on so that they don’t spill out all over before I give it a second and final tamp.Delonghi, please make a double basket that fits a double shot please!

dont get your grounds too small or it wont pull properly. not sure if the bar pressure is enough for espresso sized grounds. having to go more coarse. flavor ends up nice tho. the pull from a more coarse ground actually gives better crema than a finer ground. frother works as it should. heats up fast enough for me not to have to worry about it rushing in the morning before work.

After a long research, I finally bought this on black friday deal. I am new to espresso making but did a lot of research for days to understand the crucial things to make a perfect latter or cappuccino or espresso. I am still learning every day and getting better and better. One thing that is key is getting a burr grinder for making fine espresso grind. I bought the oxo grinder and it works perfectly fine for me. I also think tamping the ground powder in the portafilter is essential and needs practice for people new to espresso making. I am also a beginner but enjoy the process and also love my lattes every morning. I like mine better than the ones I have had in coffee shops lol.
