I’ve been having bad luck with stuff I’ve been buying from Amazon lately. For that reason, I’ve lowered my expectations considerably. In the case of this hotpot, my low expectations were not exceeded.First off, it works okay. For boiling stuff. Ramen. Soups. Fine. And it comes to a boil in about six minutes.But it has problems.First, the connection where the cord plugs into the back is not a snug fit. This might be a safety hazard.Second. The lid is not a snug fit. The flange is only 1/16″. It slips off easily if you tilt the pot. It should be 1/4″.Third. The handle is on the wrong side. It should be on the left. You hold the pot with your left hand and stir with the right. Even if you’re left-handed.Fourth. The heating coil doesn’t cover the entire bottom. It’s only a semi-circle. This means you can’t simmer anything. One side will stay hot and the other not. One side scorches.Fifth. The switch. has two positions. One would think it would be “Low” and High”, correct? Nope. The two positions are “High” and “Really High”. Forget about braising or simmering anything. It’s “Boil” and “Rolling Boil”.Sixth. The switch is positioned on the lower front. Be careful if you pour anything out the front. It will drip down and might short out the switch. Bzzt! Whammo! Bam! Unplug before you pour!Bottom line, if all you eat is ramen and boiled vegetables, this is the pot for you..

I use this for breakfast oatmeal and reheating previous prepared meals. The only feature that is missing is a light to indicate that it is on.

I used to have an old mini hot pot I used everyday and it broke. Got this one and I love it. I can now have potstickers and soup at the same time however, make sure to use pot holders to remove steamer tray as it gets hot.

Bought this for my dorm and really loved it! It looks cute and works well. I’ve only had it for a bit so I’m not sure about the longevity, but it’s easy to handle for dorms. The only problem is not having a removable pot because you’ll have to be careful not to get water near the electrical outlet when washing.
