The drinkmate is a great carbonater and looks nice. It’s basically a glorified regulator, but quite convenient. Once you get the hang of the process, it’s quick to use. I fill the big bottle to the 750 mL mark, attach it, give a big push until it begins to vent gas, then I give 5 quick squirts of gas. It comes out wonderfully carbonated. I use filtered water (RO under-sink filter). When chilled, the result is just to my taste. It IS indeed possible to use it with other beverages, as they claim — but you have to be careful. I’ve successfully carbonated green tea and coffee. It does not work with beer (probably due to presence of nitrogen bubbles. A failed attempt results in a bottle release rather than explosion. Messy but not dangerous. My suggestion for trying non-water beverages: fill the container as little as possible but where the spout still enters the fluid. Then give a tiny spurt. Some things foam up a LOT (due to existing dissolved gas or perhaps some sort of colloid effect). If you use tiny spurts, you can see if it will carbonate successfully. Green tea foamed up a lot, but was doable via a series of small spurts. The nozzle is easy to wash afterward (especially since you can just blow CO2 through it after to clear the path). In my experience, and using my method (1 full release then 5 small ones), I estimate about 30 bottles worth. If you use less I expect you’ll get 40-50. But bear in mind that these are 750 mL fills, not full liters. One other important thing is that you probably will want to order a couple of sodastream CO2 canisters (they’re about $30 each new). The canisters are identical, and differ only in the label. However, sodastream has a deal with lots of local vendors (ex. Target, etc) for exchanges. You can walk into a store, pay a fee (around $15) and swap your empty canister on the spot. To my knowledge they won’t accept drinkmate labelled canisters, however. So use the provided drinkmate canister, then buy a couple of sodastream ones and swap those when empty at your local stores. It’s way cheaper and more convenient than monkeying around with mail-order exchanges. One other note: the plastic bottle is NOT a standard soda bottle. It is designed for the drinkmate and has a locking (and I’m guessing quick-release if overpressurized) top. If it breaks, you’ll need to replace it in kind. Mine is still going strong, but just something to be aware of.Finally, if you find that the thing is making weird sounds or releasing gas but not into the water bottle, check the back. My CO2 canisters sometimes wiggle their way loose and need to be tightened (just turn like a screw until tight). Not a big deal, but something worth knowing.

The process is so easy and with push of button, you can carbonize any drink you want. Even the old styled, boring flavor powders will taste way better after you carbonate. And yes, I carbonate after I add/mix the flavors and no issues so far. We are using this almost everyday. Will definitely recommend.

I never knew how easy it was to make wonderfully fizzy water! This machine is great, and uses no electricity. And there are many flavorings available out there, including Canada Dry ginger ale, our favorite. Never buying cans or bottles again!

I really like the product but the conflicting part is that a reviewer a question and the answer was, (The extra .5L bottle that comes with our bundle packs is always a random color and does change. While we do try to make matching sets what we have in surplus stock does not always allow us to do so) I know itโs not a big deal but itโs like going to get a pair of shoes and they tell you that they have a surplus of other colors and you might not get the correct color or size, it sounds like they canโt be bothered. It works great but itโs not a inexpensive product so I think a effort can be made.
