   **Summary**I LOVE sparkling water. It was the thing that got me off soda years ago. I’ve had a couple of different competitor machines over the last 10+ years and they have served me fine. I don’t think the end result of the Drinkpod system is any better or worse than the competitors, but the quality of the materials used are nicer.**Good**The unit is a combination of plastic and stainless steel with a great system to secure the bottles in place using 4 little knobs on the bottle. I find this makes it incredibly easy to know the bottle is locked in place. The button you press to carbonate the bottle feels heavy duty and has a slower release, meaning I don’t have to hold it down, but rather than can press it about three times to get the level of carbonation I like. The bottles themselves are a thicker plastic than I am used to, a little taller, and have heavy duty stainless tops. I doubt it makes a big difference to outcome, but it feels nicer to use.**Bad**I did deduct a star for two reasons. First, the unit is taller than the competitor and just tall enough that it doesn’t slide under my counter without me having to maneuver it at an angle. This is a little bit of a pain if you are trying to use it beside other items in a drink station. Second, the bottles aren’t dishwasher safe. This is less of a concern for me because I only put filtered water through the system, but if you are using it for soda, the bottles are likely going to be more difficult to clean.Overall, I like the unit. It’s going to replace my other system, at least for a while.

   Sturdy, and well-built from quality materials. The stainless steel looks great on the countertop. It uses the popular soda maker brand co2 cannisters. Works great to make great tasting soda water. Pretty simple function. Just press the lever a couple of times and you have soda! No complaints with this at all.

   I have a thing for kitchen appliances, and this did not disappoint! Make sure to have a standard 60L CO2 Cylinder on hand as this does not come with it. The stainless steel is beautiful and I always appreciate when that is used as opposed to plastic, for hygienic reasons. With that being said, I do wish the water bottles were glass but at least I can pour directly into glass once it’s carbonated. The process is beyond simple, you literally fill one of the containers up with water and then press the lever until your desired amount of carbonation. Afterwards, you can add any flavoring you’d like. The unit is a little tall but luckily it fits under my kitchen cabinets perfectly, you might want to measure first, it stands 17″ tall. It definitely does the job for when I am needing something bubbly. It’s also great for being able to offer guests sparkling beverages! This would also make a great gift!

   This is one of the more gorgeous carbonation devices I’ve seen. It’s thin but a little tall. Finish is lovely on it. Everything is sturdy, the plastic bottles are thick, and it was packed well. Takes a normal sized CO2 canister. Bubbling is easy even without reading the instructions but I’d suggest going through them anyways as it will keep you from ‘sploding fizzy water everywhere.

   Drinkpod was not a familiar brand to me at first. But, I was curious to see how the sodamaker requires no batteries or electricity so that way no possible harmful emissions into the air and water supply. About choosing cylinders, I chose Soda Stream’s cylinders. If you’re getting Soda Stream’s gas cylinder, make sure you’re getting a blue design one instead of a pink one. The pink bottle wouldn’t fit on this machine. the Drinkpod soda maker works very well with Soda Stream cylinders. The Drinkpod is easy to use also handy to bring even while traveling. The bubbles stayed fresh for over 2-3 days! I often drank Bubbly’s sparkling water. This homemade sparkling water is 10 times better than the store bought water. The bubbles are smaller than store bought brands so that way it’s easy to drink without stomachaches. (About bubbles, it all depends on which cylinder you use)Overall, I love the no batteries and no electricity concept and simplicity about the machine. If you love campings, traveling, doing outdoorsy stuff you can pre make the sparkling water home and bring with you. The bubbles will stay for days!One down side was some plastic, styrofoam packaging’s that came with the product. If the company can reduce, change to more eco friendly, that would be amazing. Other than that I am very happy with the product and taste.This will save lots of money from spending money on sodas and canned bubbly water. I would highly recommend getting this bubbly water maker!

   Probably one of the more fun appliances that we’ve ever owned. Yes, you get the convenience of being able to soda-fy water and other types of drinks or juices. But the highlight for us is being able to experiment with different types of ingredients. And create new, original flavors of soda that haven’t been made before. ESPECIALLY because Granny isn’t supposed to drink caffeinated sodas, but she really loves the bubble and fizz of traditional soda. So we’re able to custom make drinks that taste like the ones she likes, but without having to hunt down caffeine-free versions. You can find caffeine-free Dr Pepper, or Diet Dr Pepper. But not cherry Dr Pepper that’s caffeine-free, or Dr Pepper Zero. So that’s one of the other big benefits to getting this, being able to make soda that tastes like the store stuff, but offers you the chance to improve how you make either caffeine-free or specialty diet drinks (without weird artificial sweeteners).
