I had to return the first ice-cream machine because it stopped spinning the canister. The lid would not seat properly on the canister so the motor wouldn’t turn it. I tried pushing it down during the churning, but it kept popping back off. I haven’t had a chance to try out the replacement one yet, but I will come back with an update as soon as I know it is in working order.UPDATE : The new replacement machine is useless. It has a knot hole in the side of the bucket, that pours out water. It was patched unsuccessfully by the manufacturer and should have been rejected by Quality Control, not patched. The whole bucket leaks, and even after filling it with water for half a day it was leaking out of the knot hole and the bottom like a sieve. I stuffed some paper in the crack, and we were able to get thru the 4th of July weekend. It soaked the towel it was sitting on with brine. I will be returning this one as well for a replacement. Hopefully I can get one with a properly made bucket this time and one that will churn properly.Update 7/15/22 – well poo, the third machine has a crack in the bucket that you can see daylight through. I’m tired of sending these things back so I just used toothpicks and Titebond III (water proof wood glue) to fill and seal the crack. It’s a budget ice-cream machine, and it shows. I had three out of three buckets that leaked like sieves. I’ve made a couple of batches of ice-cream, so I know that the machine itself works, they just have poorly built buckets. Save yourself a headache and either purchase a different brand, or be prepared to have leaking bucket issues. I should have just repaired the first one, and drove on.

Absolutely love this! Works fantastic and sooo easy to use and clean. Very quiet compared to my old one. Thinking on making this my Christmas to my family this year because now it’s like I am making ice cream constantly. My whole family loves it Made a simple vanilla batch today. While reading the recipe I noticed the ingredients would no way test the capacity of the mixing cylinder. So I doubled it and proceeded. Maybe filled it half way. But I wanted to get an ice cream maker that would make enough to last a while. Dessert for breakfast and lunch deserve a try right? Easy to clean up. The electric motor fit well and sounded strong enough. I didn’t run it until it stopped on its own. I guessed a little earlier than the instructions suggested and employed the old hand crank. The hand crank goes on the opposite way than I first tried. I thought there was going to be a problem. I must have overlooked that part of the instruction. Maybe explaining it would be confusing. Suffice it to say when you attempt to place the hand on the wooden tub, it only goes on one way. The tub was easy to clean. I rinsed it quite thoroughly. I did fill it with water two hours before my ice cream making process per the instructions so the water would get the wooden tub’s material to expand. It still leaked a bit at the base inside the space that is out of site. But it was maybe a half cup of salted water. I expect this leaking issue will decrease or go away all together after a few more uses. Little assembly necessary. Just a Phillips screw drive for the screw in the hand crank handle. I tightened the screws for the hardware that holds the hand crank/electric crank since the screw driver was at the ready. After this first use I can say so far so good. I am happy with the complete product.9251

It works as it should but the motor is definitely / DEFINITELY weak. If you add just a little too much salt it will bind and stop on you. There are other makers with stronger motors and I would advise seeking them. This unit works as it should but is under powered and has very thin metal. It feels cheap honestly but like I said previously, it works but it’s definitely not the best. If you plan to make ice-cream just a couple times a year, buy this.

First one we’ve ever had.Used it twice this summer – Fun to use.The way the motor housing locks to the Bucket is a little sketchy, but it still worked out okay.

make good ice and it can make different flavors but it takes a lot of time

The major advantage of this ice cream freezer is that hand cranking (the old fashioned way) is combined with the option of using electricity for cranking.

This ice cream maker took me back to my childhood when we made homemade ice cram for the 4th. I am glad this one is electric. Easy to use. The ice cream sets up nicely. We have decided to use it for all of our family get together.

Homade ice cream is a favorite past time. The wood bucket works very well keeping everything cold so you use less ice. The hand crank could be better built but works for the grand king to experience what it was like when I was a kid making ice cream. Of course the electric power head is what I use ?
