Purchased this to replace a larger 1200-watt microwave that finally quit. We’ve had this microwave for about 6 weeks now and use it multiple times a day. Thus far, we haven’t noticed any significant heating/timing differences between this machiine’s 900 watts and our previous machine’s 1200. Believe the reduced wattage also means that it does not require a dedicated circuit. We live in a small apartment with limited kitchen counter space and appreciate the smaller footprint of this microwave. The few inches difference in the dimensions makes a much bigger difference in our kitchen than we expected. This is one of the very few microwaves we found that only requires 3 inches of top clearance and 1 inch of rear clearance for proper air circulation. Most of the others required 8-12 inches of top clearance and at least 3 inches in the back. We only have 5 inches of top clearance and no room for a separate microwave stand. So this microwave is ideal for our small place.A couple of other reviewers have said they feel the door is a bit “tinny.” We haven’t found that with ours. This microwave looks nice and is easy to clean. Its white color is a bonus for us as our other kitchen appliances are white. White microwaves are tough to find (our previous one was chrome color). There are only two improvements we’d like to see GE make on this microwave:1) Use a door handle for opening the door instead a push button. We find that we have to push the button in a specific spot with with just the right amount of pressure to get the door to open. The button doesn’t feel super-sturdy, and we’re concerned it might not last very long. A door handle would be much more user-friendly.2) Because of the dark screen over the door’s window, we can’t see the food while it is cooking. The inside light automatically turns on during microwaving, but the dark screen makes it impossible to see anything other than a little bit of light. With our previous microwave, we could easily see the food during microwaving.Over all, this is a nice little microwave, handy for small spaces and one or two people.

I like the look of this one & mainly picked it because it was had good ratings & was the right size in & out & was white. I HATE black appliances and when given a choice will opt for white. So I cook pasta in the FastaPasta (https://www.amazon.com/Microwave-Pasta-Cooker-Original-Sticking/dp/B000YT2XOI?th=) and it is a tight fit for a small microwave (9cu) so the inside has to be about 12″ on all sides or it will get stuck on the walls & won’t spin. This micro is 12x12x8 tall at the door opening BUT the walls are indented so it is a bit bigger inside. I have a cabinet I had built for the old microwave so it had to be the same size as the old one to fit in the cabinet. It does. The exterior size is 19 wide & 11-1/2 tall (incl feet) & 13-3/4 deep (incl plug clearance but not the 2×3) The plug is a flat plug (YAY!!!) BUT the old one had a guard tab on the back to keep you from pushing the plug back, mashing it against the wall & stressing it where it comes out of the microwave. I just popped a 8″ piece of 2×3 behind it so that won’t happen. It seems to work well but it is a bit noisier than my old one & the open door button feels kinda cheap & the door pops open vs my old one that was a bit smoother & not as aggressive. The plate is about 3/4″ smaller than my old one & that is no big deal for me. i will update if it all goes south….

This microwave operates much like my old one that i loved. Love the 30 second button and use it all the time. Timer is convenient. Love that it reminds you when you have something in it (I forget alot ?)Two downsides… 1) It shows fingerprints terribly. No door handle so you push it shut , so fingerprints all over the door. Not the end of the world but… 2) Makes an awful CLANG noise when you shut the door. Just unpleasant. My husband thinks its noisy also but I feelfree like the sound is just different from our other.Overall its a microwave and it heats your food well so depends how much you care about little details.

We are very pleased. Some have complained about the hard to read lettering, but we have no trouble reading it. You do need to get close to it though. Think about it: do you really want a microwave that stands out? We like how this one blends in with the rest of the kitchen. We love the mute feature. Why have a microwave with bells and whistles that wake up the baby and anyone else sleeping in a 1/4 mile radius? Think: midnight snacks… It is a good size for two persons. We recommend it.

After having this microwave for a few months I’m ready to give it an all star rating. It is smaller than my older GE micro but stronger so faster in getting the job done. It is also slightly heavier so doesn’t slip out of position on the shelf.
