After years of using a George Foreman grill, I decided it was time for a change. There is no comparison. (Excuse the “not ready for the cookbook” photos, but I wanted you to see the juice, the color of the meat, the grilled veggies.) I thought this would take forever to heat up and to cook; it didn’t. I was pleasantly surprised.I did a lot of research and thinking about what I wanted. I am on a strict low carb diet, so I eat a lot of meat. What I knew I didn’t want was a 15 pound unit that: costs a bundle, uses lots more electricity, and doesn’t give me much more cooking surface area. So, I kept coming back to this unit.I could never have gotten these results with my old grill. The pink center, lack of shrinkage of the meat…. both amazing. I bought 2 steaks recently. I cooked one the other day on my George Foreman, and it was so charred on the outside, that is was difficult to eat (4 minutes got it to about medium.) I heated this grill to Sear (about 5 minutes… I thought it would be double that), put a slice of onion and mixed peppers on the grill with the steak. The book says 6 to 14 minutes for the steak. I left everything for 3 minutes, flipped the steak, rechecked the temp after 3 minutes, flipped it again, then let it cook for 1 and a half additional minutes. In the meantime, I moved the onion and peppers off the center of the grill to the side panel to keep them warm, but not burned. (The peppers were frozen when I put them on. The onion was still a bit crunchy when I ate it.) I cooked the steak to 145, then let it rest for 3 minutes on my plate. You can see the results. The meat was like butter, and incredibly juicy. It took only a few minutes longer than the George Foreman, pulls the same power as the GF, but, the difference in the meat is stunning. Not much smoke (only when heating it up… I oiled the grill since my marinade had no oil). The grill heated to 450 (but did not stay at that level which doesn’t really bother me, (I’m not sure it’s supposed to), and the results were so good that I am not going to worry about it.). This should be a great grill for fish….the cooking process is nuanced enough. I am looking forward to making salmon and chicken thighs later this week.Clean up? A breeze. I let it cool, wiped it with wet paper towels, then rinsed the grill off under warm running water.Set up? Took about 2 minutes. The lid popped in easily, and you just match the underside round holes on the right to the base, and you are off! (I washed the lid and grill in warm soapy water first.)One tip: it’s not sealed all the way around. I reached into the tray to grab a piece of pepper which had fallen through, and my finger connected with the hot grate. Watch your kids. The back part of the grill under the cover is open about a half inch, so careful there as well.I will update this review if I see anything different, but for now: a big 5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. Reasonably priced, easy to handle, doesn’t take up your whole kitchen, little smoke, and GREAT results. Enjoy!

First I’ve seen negative reviews that compare this to a George Foreman grill. Y’all…this is so far from the truth. I used to suck at cooking. Part of my sucking was being single and busy in college. I’d come home and plop a piece of meat I had been marinating onto the George Foreman grill. I’d pop a bag of steamer veggies in the microwave. And I’d microwave a potato. Then I’d sit and enjoy my dry jerky slab of meat and sides. I did that for years.Eventually I got married and became a mom and I’ve learned to really cook through the years. I love outdoor grilling. I’m from the south and let’s just say it’s the summer song of my people, okay. Gas grills, charcoal grills, smokers, tailgate grills, you name it.I was convinced after many more trials with George Foreman and the man’s many grills (his direct fake grill competitors, too) that I’d never find an indoor grill that could ever give an outdoor grill a run for its money. But if you had told me the one to do it would be…Hamilton Beach? I’d have Drew Afuelo laughed in your face so fast. HEHEHEHEHEHE. I KNOW YOU LYING.But it’s true. This is the one you’ve been waiting for. This is your apartment-dweller grilled food dreams coming true right here! Now of course you won’t have a charcoal flavor. That’s from CHARCOAL. I like Whistle Stop seasoning here. You won’t have a smoked flavor. That’s from SMOKE. I like some REAL liquid smoke here. But this is the closest thing you’ll find to a gas grill and I’d go up against any gas griller in a cook off.I’ll buy this grill as a housewarming gift for everyone for all of forever. I’m buying them to save for my kids who are half grown. I’m buying a backup for myself. That’s how much I love this grill.

I have only used this grill twice, but I see this becoming a go to item. It is so easy to setup, easy to use, and very easy to clean up. What I am most surprised and impressed with is how light it is. I thought when I saw the box it would be cumbersome for me to handle, but, the grill plate is the only thing with any weight to it, the rest is very light. I couldn’t be ore pleased right now. It does’t quite have the outdoor grill taste, but, it is so close that the price of this grill is a lot better tha the price of a new outdoor grill, which we need. Plus we are old folks and fooling with the big outdoor grill is becoming hard for us. This will be a great second best for us to the outdoor grilled items. So far, we love it!

I wish I had taken a photo of my FOOD to post LOL! this was easy to put together, easy to use and my chicken tenders were perfect. The book shows 12-15 minutes for chicken so I did 14 for the tenders. Perfect. Sear marks, juicy, great taste. I did spray the grate with non stick spray just in case. I made veggie kabobs but I like some of my veggies soft so the next time I use this I will put the kabobs on FIRST and then cook the chicken. Now that I think of it – probably depends on what kind of veggies you grill too, because kabobs lay horizontal & not quite touching the heating grate vs. laying them flat w/o the skewer. Trial and error. Very happy with my purchase and it doesn’t take up a whole lot of space and the grate will fit perfect in my dishwasher. GET THIS !

For steaks well done…. Put temp control on SEAR, wait until the green ready light comes on, open lid and put steaks on. Close lid cook on SEAR for 6 minutes on each side… perfection, once finished put a little butter on top of each one. Let them rest for 3 minutes. Yummy! The heating element is encased in the metal grill. There is some smoking but I just turn on the overhead fan.Unplug the grill. After the grill cools down some, wet some paper towels and lay on top of the grill and close the top and let it sit for about 20 minutes and it will loosen up the grill gunk for easy cleaning.I looked into a lot of indoor grills before deciding on this one. It may not be smokeless but it’s a great indoor grill and most importantly it gets hot!
