This is one of my favorite purchases on Amazon ever. I’ve seen a British friend use electric kettles and I’ve seen them on TV shows like “As Time Goes By” 🙂 and Brits know something. I had no idea how much I’d use this. Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate, Oatmeal, etc., and things cook quicker when I add boiling water when making soup, rice, pasta, homemade Instant Pot stew or any number of things. I timed the difference and the same amount of water boils in 10 minutes on the stove and 2 1/2 minutes in this kettle. I’ve also found that making tea more often means less mindless/emotional snacking when I just want “something.” I’m very glad I bought this. There are larger and fancier versions, but this Hamilton Beach kettle is perfect for my needs as a single person, even when I want several cups of coffee on a rough morning. When the guage has steam in it, it can be hard to read the water level. This would be true on any similar kettle. So I gently tilt the pot back just a tiny bit (being careful not to burn myself), and it clears out the steam so I can read the water level easier. Alternatively I use a measuring cup to fill it.

This is my second – purchased one for the house YEARS ago, and it is still going strong. Needed a hot pot for the RV, didn’t see this one in the store, so bought something else (inexpensive) for the coach. While traveling, the pantry door came open (my bad!) and the new hot pot fell out. Broke it. Put the one from the house in the coach. But, I like THIS kettle. Started looking around and was delighted to find it on Amazon, so bought another for the house. Might buy yet another to put away against future need!! I have never had a single complaint regarding this kettle.OH, people say it leaks. Yes, it does. If you overfill it, it most definitely leaks. If it is leaking, try only putting in 1L of water next time.

I bought this kettle in 2016 and am still using it daily. There’s no telling how many hundreds of times I’ve used it and it still works flawlessly. Takes from 3-5min to boil on standard American power depending on how much water you put in it. The base stays cool, and you can set it down without fear.No signs of staining or pitting so it’s real stainless steel and I don’t have a problem with scale even though some other products I have do get a build up.I’ll never use a stovetop kettle again
