Found the drip free spout works very well. Other reviews stating the condensation inside the clock area is not true, it’s steam on the outside so the electronics aren’t affected – you can wipe it off with your finger. The basket placement takes some getting used to and the handle could be a little bigger but I’m getting used to it. The clock is a bit tricky so you have to remember the steps to change the clock time vs how to change the programable timer for brewing coffee later. Like the ability to load water in the front, as opposed to the back like most brands. Overall, I’m pleased with the coffee maker – have been using it daily for almost 2 months now. Being very careful not to knock the carafe on anything as the glass is not very thick and seems fragile.Update Nov 22 – six months later, I accidentally bumped the carafe and I think there’s a hairline crack. Also the burner plate has gotten white spots on it and they’re progressively getting worse. I guess the finish is not long lasting. The carafe is ok for now because I only make 4 cups in the pot and it doesn’t leak (yet). I think when making a full pot, it may leak from the hairline crack. You truly have to be extremely careful when washing and handling the carafe. Will probably buy another carafe in the near future. As for the burner plate, it’s fine since it doesn’t affect the coffee but just looks unattractive. Overall still a good buy but wish the quality was a bit better.

the coffee maker has a defect, when you put water to line 10 on glass pitcher, it dont stop till it has reached 11 on glass, so i filled it to 12, and it wants to run over to very top.the defect is dont put it at a line, or it will run over, that go for line 6 also, if u put it on line 6 with water, it will keep running till it gets to 7. now the good part, it heats perfect, makes perfect coffee or tea, if u want to make tea.have not used it yet enough to clean, now i wish i had got the one with alexa , but it would not be right to send it back, even with the Defect UP DATE ONE 3 DAYS LATER. Filling the coffee maker to the 8 mark line, lets see if it stops there. , finishing the up datem water temp was 173, and yes it stoped at the 8 mark line, the secret is . dont go by the line on coffee glass container, go by THE LINES ON COFFEE MAKER ON SIDE of coffee maker, i now give it a 5 star, if i could i would give it a 6 star.

Update: I reached out to Hamilton Beach with my complaint and have received a new replacement at no cost. So far so good with the warming plate not getting ruined.Coffee stays hot, easy to program. My issues have been that the pot is tough to get onto the hot plate. The plates coating starting wearing off pretty quickly and has now stained the pot. I replaced a Hamilton Beach coffee pot that I had for years. Not sure I would buy this again even though it has many positives.

This is our fourth Hamilton beach coffee maker in 10 years. The other three quit working for various reasons. On one, the hot plate went out; on another, the display was steamed over unreadable and also became very loud in perking. The unreadable clock unit still works and serves as our backup. The new model: a lot of people complained about past models and the case of the dribbling carafe. Even more complained about the coffee not being very hot once perked. Well, great news for you: you got both your wishes. This carafe pours perfectly and easily. As for the warming plate, get ready. It has one temperature: scalding hot, so easy with the first sips. This is a tweak that doesnโt help and makes little sense. You need at least a high and a medium.Making less sense are the 3 levels of brew strength option. Does anyone need this, really? Why would you put your expensive fresh ground coffee in it and set it for โweakโ or โlightโ?Usually one wouldโฆ.wait for itโฆUSE LESS COFFEE.This model is quieter than all others perking. In another odd add, there is a way to pour the water in through the front of the machine in addition to the back. Ok, fine, but why can one only read the water level from the left-hand side? We need the water level display on both sides because of where it sits. The program clock is a little quirky, but simple once you see how it works. Itโs just slightly different than, say, an alarm clock.I only illustrate these things to tell you about the not great, but also not deal breaking issues that weโve had, and new ones theyโve added with these machines. It does seem like they over-thought these changes. Sometimes less is more, you know?We still like them very much. We keep buying them. Coffee is a passion for us, this is a really good coffee maker and this particular model also looks very sleek. It really is beautifulโtheyโve done a great job with the new design.Theyโve all been around $40-$50, so over 10 years we have still spent less than we spent on one Krups coffee maker which we used to buy for the previous 20 years.

I saw the reviews about the unit leaking but took a chance since this item had the options I liked. Filled it up and leaked all over the counter. Took another chance and ordered a replacement and its been great!!

We’ve only had it for a few days, however, we like the convenience of the front loading water and coffee. The controls are easy to use and simple. The one complaint, so far is that it’s difficult to see the water level markings on the pot. They should be something other than white. If you use the correct amount of a good brand of coffee, it’s delicious.

Nothing to dislike.

Finally a replacement for my old DeLonghi coffee maker. I have cabinets above all of my counterspace so I need a coffee maker that can be filled with water and coffee from the front without having to pull it out and push it back every time. The DeLonghi was a little easier but this is a close second.
