I bought this because I know how commonly people cut their fingers slicing bagels, and wanted to save myself a trip to urgent care. This device slices through bagels like a knife through butter. Easy to clean, but I recommend reading the instructions and cleaning the blade only with a brush! That thing is sharp. Generally you don’t have to clean it often unless you cut sticky bagels with things like chocolate chips and raisins in them. If you are safety conscious and cut bagels, I highly recommend this device. I will add that my first one arrived broken because they shipped it in the box with no packing — just a label slapped on the box! When I complained, I quickly received an intact model with a little more packaging — and it was in perfect condition. Appreciate the excellent customer service & making it right.

Bought this for a person with arm and hand weakness. Worked like a charm. First tried on a bagel from Walmart that was chilled in the fridge. It also worked on a warmed-up bagel. I understand that I might have had problems with slicing the bagel in half if the bagel was old and dry or if it was overheated. Cleans easy using a bottle brush. Five stars.

Got this yesterday, first thing was to run it through the dishwasher (top level per instructions). After it was washed I sliced a bagel from Walmart, worked as advertised. Then I tried a bagel from Costco, they’re a much bigger bagel and it wouldn’t fit into the holder. I had to flatten the bagel to make it fit. Not too happy about that I mean who likes a squashed bagel. The up side is you get a clean cut and you don’t need to plug it in, flip on a switch, or wear eye/ear protection to use this device. I’ll keep it.

This product sliced my bagel cleanly and easily. Very safe too.I love having bagels for breakfast but slicing them with a regular kitchen knife is extremely dangerous. This product makes slicing bagels very easy. Quick too.

Now that I have found the perfect bagel cutter, no longer will I wonder if I’m going to cut myself again trying to cut a bagel. I was concerned with the overly large bagels from Costco, but it accommodates them without a problem. I was concerned with cleaning the blade but then decided to read the directions. A soft bottle brush cleans the shielded blade with ease. Don’t leave the site without purchasing one.

Bought this because slicing bagels with a knife is difficult. This does the job but be forewarned that larger bagels can get stuck in it. Also, by design the slicing blade is sharp and there is no way to remove the blade for easy cleaning. Be careful reaching in to clean the blade and the sides of the slicer. I soak mine in warm soapy water and then us my sink sprayer to rinse it out. Over all it does a good job though and is safer to use than a knife.

Back in college, all the cafeterias had these for students to use. They were safe, quick and convenient. I don’t know why it took me so many years (but I’m not going to age myself too much and tell you just how many years) and a few injuries to buy one for myself. Right handers, picture this. You hold the round object known as a bagel in your left hand, you hold the big bread knife in your right hand, and you start sawing. Round objects slip, then the knife does, and before you know it you have a deep cut and a scar that is still there 10 years later. Trying to save my now teenager from this pain, I finally bought one and I couldn’t be happier. It is very sharp, but well protected. It works well on fresh bagels and harder bagels, even those Montreal or Brooklyn style ones. It cleans up quite easily- most of the time I just wipe it down unless we’ve had a particularly sticky bagel, then simple soap and water does the trick.
