This is definitely a popular item, the 12 bottle one anyway which is what I’m writing a review for. I had it on my wish list for a while and was watching go out of stock and come back in stock.Just got it yesterday and it is running at 57ยฐ with 11 bottles of wine in it (pic shows 65ยฐ because I had just plugged it in). So far so good. I’m actually giving this a 4.5 star rating. Here are my two minor complaints:1) It could stand to be just a tad bigger to accommodate bottles like Pinot Noir or Syrah. Right now mine are in base of bottle first, but I hear if you put bottle neck in first it may have more room. So maybe that will help but I kinda of like neck pointing to the front. Anyway, would be nice if there was just a tad more space.2) The light of temperature is too dang bright and there is no way to turn off or dim the digital temp light. I live in an open/urban one bedroom apartment (it’s like a hydride between a studio and a one bedroom). And the light is bright enough that at night I have to put a dark t-shirt hanging over the light because I like it as dark as I can get it when I sleep. My microwave and stove is basically across from where my bed is and those have features to turn off the clock. It would be nice to add a dimmer or off feature for the digital temp light.Otherwise, it is a great looking wine cooler and runs quiet. Not only do I like it dark when I sleep but I like quiet. I don’t sleep to music or white noise and I didn’t even notice anything.I’m looking forward to enjoying wine stored in this without any pressure to have to start drinking certain bottles and knowing they are being kept in a good holding temp.

This Ivation model is perfect for us. My boyfriend and I are novice wine enthusiasts with precious little real estate in our 632 square ft apartment. We wanted a wine cooler that would preserve a few bottles until they were ready to drink a few years down the road and have enough space for our rotating selection. We needed something slender and discreet – both in terms of noise and light. I can’t stand waking up at night to an apartment full of bright little lights staring at me. This model has a constant blue display of the temperature that’s bright enough to see from across the room but doesn’t glare at you. Another plus is its electricity usage – surprisingly efficient. I thought our electricity bill would jump given even though this is a thermoelectric model. It did, of course, but far less than I anticipated. Another thing I like about it is the rack size – it’s perfect for any bottle you’d expect to find, whether its a slender riesling or a bottom-heavy pinot noir. And while the racks aren’t designed to slide out, they come in and out of their supports pretty easily.I have two small complaints. The first is the temperature reader. Since I unwrapped it, I’ve had it set to a consistent 55 degrees F and never changed it. Sometimes the temperature would mysteriously go up 3-7 degrees and just hover there, even though I hadn’t disturbed the refrigerator or opened the doors at all. This happened in the summer as well as the winter, so it makes me wonder if the temperature reader is a little buggy and the temperature inside is actually fine. None of my wine has spoiled, so it’s not enough to knock off a star. The second complaint is that you cannot put anything on top of it. At all. In a moment of absent-mindedness I put 3-5 magazines on top of it on evening and within a few hours it was freaking out. The motor was whirring audibly for the first time and the temperature reader indicated that the inside had heated up by a few degrees. I took off the magazines and it quickly calmed down. (To be fair, the manual does warn you against doing this – I’m mentioning it here to let you know that they really mean it.)Pros:- Convenient size – fits discreetly next to my bookshelf- Absolutely no noise most of the time- Minimal bright lights- Cost effective – didn’t increase my electricity bill a ton- Rack size accommodates a variety of bottle typesCons:- Odd temperature fluctuations – Goes up randomly even though it hasn’t been disturbed, regardless of temperature. Also takes a long time to cool back down after you open it – maybe 30-60min.- Can’t put anything on top of it.Bottom line: If you are tight on space and money but still want to indulge your love of wine, this model is excellent value.

My old wine fridge was dying, so I selected this one to take its place. Itโs very simple to set up. Step 1: plug it in. Step 2: set the temperature. Step 3: put wine bottles inside.I only had to consult the directions to figure out how to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. I set the temperature for 60 degrees for my bottles of red wine, and I waited for the fridge to reach that temperature before loading it up. It took less than a half hour to reach 60. The fridge is very quiet, and it keeps a pretty stable temperature. Iโve been watching the temp reading for a few days now, and it cools down as low as 57 at times, but I have yet to see it go above 60. So the variance is very minor. The storage space is somewhat limited in that only “regular-sized” bottles will fit easily. The wire shelves slide out so you can remove some of them if you want to make room for a thicker bottle like champagne. Of course, that will reduce the number of bottle you can store. I only tend to have 5-6 bottles at most in my wine fridge, so I don’t know how well the thermostat holds up if the fridge is packed full with 12 bottles. The fridge is working well for the few bottles I have on hand.Aesthetically speaking, the fridge has a nice sleek exterior, and itโs just tall enough to serve as a small tabletop.
