The unit arrived timely on a pallet. Special delivery time frame with signature required. Driver took back pallet which was nice.Straightforward to assemble. If you plan to do any modifications like adding internal tower insulation or tower cooling fan now would be best time.Minor disappointments:1) Mine arrived with a compression dent, (more of buckled appearance) on the side of the left side of cabinet. Based on my installation it’s hard to see and not worth shipping it back.2) The two included Kegco taps (493K-CFBL) are throwaway … after 48 hours they stick solid like glued in place due to the sugars in the beers drying … an Oktoberfest and Summer saison. Why have such a nice kegerator and include these taps other than shave a few dollars off price. My old Danby kegerator from Costco lasted many years and the generic plated taps work fine. Upon investigation the clearances on these included Kegco taps are too wide … this allows more beer to get stuck in the mechanism when tap is in off position. The old no name tap has tighter clearances and worked fine testing on this kegerator. The Perlick 630SS replacements (out of pocket) worked perfect. The Good:1) Customer service (phone) was very responsive to my questions on contents in shipment. Email was a waste of time … just call and speak to a person live.2) Temperature control. I installed a calibrated thin wire probe inside unit. Unit set to 34F in a 70F/45%RH room, air temperature in dead center cycled pretty consistently between 32F and 36F and water/beer in bottle was 34F. That was unexpected, and a pleasant surprise. One note: weakest insulation is in front door panel … it runs 5F cooler than room temperature, while other 3 sides, (when compressor is not running), shows room temperature.3) Nice empty, (red), 5# Kegco CO2 canister … my local distributor filled for $15. Unlike “new” no name CO2 canisters which they won’t fill without testing first.4) Interior size … nice to have the extra room for up to 3 home brew kegs or one 1/2 barrel commercial keg.Despite minor disappointments, this Kegco K309SS-2 kegerator appears to be good quality kegerator that will hopefully last many years.

I dislike reviews that don’t tell me all the things I wish I knew so here is a long detailed review. Sorry in advance.Pros:-On sale its not terribly priced by comparison to most other models.-It doesn’t get too loud for most environments as long as it doesn’t need to be silent (like a garage or home bar)-It does manage to regulate temp fairly well and doesn’t get too hot on the sidewalls. Some other kegerator models can get really hot on the sides. The temp I keep set at 40F and my thermometer reads 37-38F which is just about right for my choice of beer.-Comes with goodies like ball lock disconnects, regulator, and a pretty red new empty co2 tank you can immediately exchange for a full much older and less pretty tank at your local gas store because they’re the closest and you really don’t want to keep driving to the welding supply shop that’s further away just to save a couple bucks or preserve a tank that at some point you’re just going to exchange anyway because reasons.CONS:-Not recommended as a built in or under counter but it’s not meant to be so take it with a grain of salt.-This particular model is HBK309S-2 the HB is presumably for “home brew” since the description says its for homebrewers which explains the ball lock disconnects that are included instead of the sanke couplers. That being said. The fittings on the beer lines attacked to the tower are meant to screw on to a sanke coupler. So right out of the box you’re gonna need to clip the ends off and manually attach it to the barb fittings they give you. Also those hoses are too short IMHO because they’re not long enough to get the line resistance you need for most beers/carbonation levels which means you’re probably replacing them or looking at flow control disconnects or faucets.-Unfortunately they also DID NOT include a tower wrench for removing the lock nut on the beer shanks in the tower which would make replacing those beer lines a lot easier.TLDR: Beer lines need replaced and there is no tower wrench for the lock nut on the shank both of which cost money.NOTES: If I was not just trying to save a cash out of pocket I would have gotten a Komos or Series X kegerator instead which would allow me to order it the way I ultimately set it up (and increase the interior space) while spending more money . I had received a bunch of amazon gift cards that basically cut the price in half making it too good to pass up so I figured I would just modify what I wanted.Ultimately I did end up spending a bit more to buy a tower wrench, replace the beer and gas lines with evabarrier lines, replace the taps with the nukatap flow control taps, replace the shanks with some duotight compatible shanks and put duotight fittings on everything else which made it so I can disconnect and replace everything in 5-10 minutes instead of 30-60 minutes. I’m a person who likes the convenience because I already spend too much time on making beer and cider.I also added a tower chiller and a neoprene sleeve, which along with the flow control taps and improved beer line resistance, keep foam to a minimum. No foamy or wasteful pours for me. :)No I’m not paid by any brand or retailer. Get what you like for what you’re willing to spend. I just really like the above mentioned stuff and yes even with all the extras I saved quite a bit off the retail price of the komos/series-x kegerator with almost the same setup due to the gift cards I had. If it were all retail you would end up spending way more to do the same thing making the other model a better deal with less work.I highly recommend getting tower wrench for the shank lock nuts either way and make sure you know the size of the nut BEFORE you buy. The lock nut can come in all kinds of fun sizes but the duotight shanks use 1-1/16 inch so I went with this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OHMHL7M/It was too big for the existing lock nut so I just used some pliers to loosen up the ones that came with the kegerator. If you’re not replacing the shank though, you probably just want a smaller wrench because the pliers are a PITA. It’s probably a good idea to take it off when you go to change hoses and check it with a socket. It looks like a 1 inch but don’t quote me on that.

This is an excellent kegorator. No question about that. It’s well designed and clearly high quality. It is certainly capable of using the homebrew style Cornelius kegs and the kit includes everything you need for that. If you’re going to purchase kegs from your local bottle shop/distributor/brewery, then YOU MUST PURCHASE COUPLERS! Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002UZUSIM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1This is the “D” type coupler for most USA style gets. If you’re in a different country you may need a different style. If all you’re going to use is commercial style kegs, a different kit may be a better option. Quite a few of the kits here on Amazon do include the couplers. This kit with added couplers is very versatile since you’ll have both the homebrew bayonet style couplers for Cornelius kegs as well.

Came here ecstatic that this fits a sixtel AND a 1/4 barrel keg. Iโd give it 4.5 stars cause a bit noisy but I care more about temperature and flow qualiTy so rounding up to 5
