I know that you can get a K-cup coffee maker from about anyone now. I also know that combo K-cup/drip coffee makers are “in” right now. Despite all of that, when my family’s old Keurig coffee maker (a mid-line model from 5+ years ago) died, I decided to get the Keurig K-Elite Coffee Maker (Brushed Silver). Why? The first reason was familiarity… my wife and daughters are large coffee consumers, but they are not necessarily great with change – it made sense to have the functionality be as close to the old coffee maker as possible. The second reason, ironically, was reliability. I believe that the old Keurig would probably have lived forever, if it had been properly maintained. Ours, however, was NEVER maintained (descaled) which led to its premature death (more on that in a minute). Third, the new Keurig has a couple features that are useful to us.Like my last Keurig, the Keurig K-Elite is a mid-level model. It’s not exactly feature-rich, but it DOES support 5 different brew sizes. It has a strong brew function. It does “ice coffee”, but I don’t really think that’s any different than any other coffee maker – you just put ice in the receiving cup. Differentiating features include a clock, complete with the ability to schedule a cup to brew on alarm (obviously you need a K-cup and water in the maker). You also get the equivalent of a cycle counter, reminding you to descale the unit. Considering the demise of our last Keurig, this is a good feature to have.Is the Keurig K-Elite a good value at $140? You could easily make the point that there are many other coffee makers that are less expensive, and produce virtually the same coffee. As far as the value of any of the features go, it really depends on how you plan to use the machine. That said, I do think it’s good to think of these types of purchases in terms of the amortized cost. If the descaler warning will help keep your machine alive for double the lifespan (or more), then it may be worth it for the K-Elite to cost double that of another machine. Obviously, YMMV. For us, though, the machine is a good value, it works every time, and it did not require any instruction/training. Conditionally Recommended

I am a coffee lover. I drink a lot of coffee. I bought this Keurig machine because the older, cheaper version I had lacked coffee strength adjustment, and, it stopped working. So I went for the slightly upgraded model which has the adjustment I wanted, and also, this upgraded model comes apart for easier cleaning. All fine and good. EXCEPT, for some strange reason, this newer “upgraded” model, which looks like it uses the same reservoir, indeed has a slightly different design. The old one had 2 lifting tabs. This new one has only one lifting tab. AND IT’s IN THE BACK. I’m not a big reviewer. Can’t be bothered with little BS complaints. But I just spilled water as I was loading the reservoir onto the main body. So DAMN. I usually just pour water into the reservoir to top it off, but this time it was near empty so I simply lifted it to the sink and filled it. Easy? Right? Not so much. And, I’m embarrassed to even be writing this. But, THERE YOU ARE !! Now I need another cup of coffee…………..

We have had the same keurig for 7 years and it was time to upgrade! I didn’t realize the k-cups could smell so good brewing ? it was very simple to set up, the instructions were clear, and the coffee tastes amazing! We have been slacking on upgrading but I’m glad we did!

Love this product. I have noticed when I use the included filters the water level frequently shows I need to add water even when I don’t need to. When this happens I just lift the water container and set it back down and it goes away. Little annoying but overall really happy!

This is my third Keurig. They probably last longer if you’re more careful about maintenance, but nothing lasts forever. It’s a big improvement over the previous two. More options for brewing, bigger reservoir, and I like that it shuts off when not in use. I’m tempted to think I will take better care of this one, and maybe I will…at first.

Bought this model after our 2 year old K150 machine died. It has been a couple of months, so no indication of longevity, but I am impressed so far. I like the strong brew button. Also, after turning it on, I can press buttons for the brew or hot water and it handles the task after heating the water. No waiting for the boiler to get things hot before making your selection. Missed the K150 screen for a minute, and then realized that the buttons and indicator lights mad things easier and faster. Still has the height limit under the discharge so that some travel mugs don’t fit, but otherwise things are OK. I would prefer that the water tank have a clear panel on the front of the machine. They made it a solid color so I have to look around the side of the reservoir to check on the water level. Yes, the low water light tells when it is time to refill, but I like being able to see the tank level from the front. Even though this is a “lower level” unti when compared to the K150, I am quite happy with it.

I bought this to replace the exact same model when the old one finally died. It has one of the largest reservoirs, so it doesn’t have to be filled with water as often and also has a wider selection of cup sizes than many of the others.

This Keurig is an upgrade from my sometime around 2013 Keurig and WOW are they two different technologies! I love how I can set this on a timer to warm up in the morning, and the biggest surprise to this unit is the high-altitude setting. This is what that setting is used for, “The high altitude setting in Keurig lowers the brewing temperature of a Keurig coffee maker to about 187°F by taking into account the high altitude effect on water’s boiling point. This enables your brewer to function optimally even at high altitudes.”I recommend this Keurig to coffee lovers who want fast coffee with consistent flavor!
