The other day I wrote the negative review below – I apologize!! spoke with KitchenAid and they were GREAT! It was my fault so please ignore my earlier comments. I will continue to evaluate the toaster, but with a change my opinion has reversed! Sorry!I did, as I always do, due diligence before purchasing this toaster. Good reviews, good name, fair price, etc.The toaster is a joke – I’ve had it for a week, tried all the settings, used it for toast and bagels and it’s junk. The final straw was an hour ago – another bagel, inserted per the directions, and one half gets toasted and the other doesn’t.Sadly I don’t have the time to send it back right now, but I’ll sure be thinking about it for a while. We got a new one to replace a two slice toaster, and I’m now sorry we gave the other one away.

Ok, this toaster is my latest attempt to find a toaster that actually Toasts the bread. This toaster when set on 3 or 4 does a descent job when you’re toasting 2 slices. However, when toasting 4 slices the slices don’t get even close to the golden brown that I like. The description says it’s suppose to lift smaller pieces of bread high enough where you can reach them. I find that English muffins are still difficult to get out. One last thing the lever to depress the toast seems a bit flimsy when it catches. So far, no problems, but I wonder if it’s going hold up over time. All that being said, this is not a bad toaster. It is probably on par with most of them. In my opinion, Toasters in general are just not as good as they used to be.

This toaster like every other long slot toaster I have purchased does not toast evenly from side to side, and I have purchased and returned some that were nearly twice the price. I am happy with all of the other functions of this toaster though and I can learn to work around that one little deficiency. I’m keeping this one, best of the bunch I’ve tried yet, of course they are all made in China, quality control is hit and miss.

Does nice job toasting, but takes a long time. Large in size, so make sure you have shelf or cupboard space.

I tried 3 cheaper toasters and none would toast evenly. Sent them all back. The point is you cannot get a good toaster for 40.00.This one was a little more money, but, really worth every penny.Cheers,Jim
