I’m not a professional chef so I was just looking for something basic and easy to use to keep my kitchen knives nice and sharp. I’ve never used a knife sharpener before, but the instructions were very straightforward and definitely improved the sharpness of my knives. The only thing is to make sure you read which notch you are using because the step numbers were out of order on mine compared to the labels on the sharpener. Use the middle notch first, then the first one, and then the last one.

I tend to buy relatively expensive knives and they all work initially but tend to lose their wedge over time. I have used a single grinding sharpener and thought it worked fairly well until it met my Thanksgiving turkey. After I hacked the bird up, I realized that the single grinder wasn’t doing the job. I bought the Kitchenpool sharpener and couldn’t be more pleased. It really does the job, and I am looking forward to attacking my Christmas turkey.I would like to make two observations. First, I don’t really see the values of the cut-resistance glove (although it is a nice touch) and second, there are many similar products on the market, and they may all do the job just as well, but I am happy with The Kitchenpool.

This is probably the easiest sharpener I’ve ever used. It’s handy to have, when my knife gets dull I just whip this bad boy out. This also the safest knife sharpener I’ve had, you just slide the knife in the slots.I now have two of these sharpeners bought the first and loved it, bought a second to keep at the deer camp.

The only negative is that the instructions that come with are terrible. The good is that it puts a great edge on all my knives. At first it seemed to not remove enough material to actually sharpen but it creates a “tip of the spear” edge that exceeds stone sharpeners I have used.
