Bought this because we wanted a waffle maker that was dishwasher safe. The inserts are easy to remove and wash in dishwasher. Only issue is the built in timer. Seems to start when it wants to. Would be nice to have a start button for the timer.

I’ve gone through a few waffle makers over the years. I never felt any of them were truly clean despite lots of paper towels and scrubbing. Finally, I spent a few extra bucks and got one with removable plates. Why didn’t I do this sooner? This makes great waffles. Even better, all I have to do is pop the plates in the dishwasher for a through cleaning. So easy!

Like a number of other reviewers, we had searched for a waffle maker to make the old-fashioned thin waffles with smaller holes in them, but the few units like that had just enough negative comments in their reviews to cause us to move on. When this one arrive, it only took one waffle-making for us to forget about that concern. It makes great waffles. We freeze all our extras. When we take them out of the freezer, we microwave them for about 20 seconds and then pop them into the toaster, and they come out perfect. We had been buying the supermarket frozen waffles, and these are SO much better. We have used pancake batter modified according to the instructions on the box, as well as the Bisquick variety. However, in an attempt to cut down carbs, I have now bought a bag of almond flower to try. We can’t believe we did without waffles for so long!

I almost didn’t order this waffle iron based on the negative reviews I read. I’m so glad that I had faith in the Krups company and bought it anyway. I have their convection oven and have been happy with it for five years, so I know they make quality products. I made waffles today and they turned out fine. I followed the directions, preheated the appliance and it cooked perfectly. I do intend to look for a tastier waffle recipe but I can’t fault the unit for that! I used the highest temperature control, as I like a crisp waffle. Next time I may cook it until the steaming stops completely or make the batter a little thinner, the waffle was cooked through, but not quite crisp. All in all, I am well satisfied with the waffle iron, and love that the cooking plates are removable for washing.

Replaced old maker with this to get one that is easy to clean.Plates install and remove easily to go straight into dishwasher. Shell and heating elements are very simple design, so easy to wipe down after use.Heating is leisurely, but it does 4 at a time.Nice depth to waffles.
