One issue with this coffee maker is driving me a bit crazy. Disclaimer: maybe I’m a klutz. The issue is that pouring water into the back of the top, with the lid up, is awkward and often results in water running down the side of the unit. Maybe you’re supposed to stand at 90 degrees so the front of the unit is to your right or your left. I’m not sure that would help. Where I need to position it makes that impossible anyway. What I like to do is put the exact amount of water I want to use in the carafe and pour all of that into the coffee maker. But getting all of it out requires a really steep pouring angle at the end, and the unit’s lid is in the way… and often really wet from a previous batch, so I don’t want to touch it with the carafe.Update: The pouring process works great if you overfill the carafe with water then pour out only some of it and dump the rest. This is an extra step and wastes a little water.I’m giving it four starts though, after trying a couple other 5 cup coffeemakers. This one is the quickest, makes great coffee, isn’t inappropriately noisy, and is clean–no factory residues in the water. (I returned one other coffee maker because even after 5 cycles of just water, factory gunk was visible in the carafe at the end of the cycle. That’s got to be toxic, and I hope they get a call from FDA.)Also, the three vent holes in the top do help reduce the water condensation on the lid. Three more might be good, but most coffeemakers have no vents at all. So that’s in the plus column. One other minor flaw: the water level marker on the side of the unit doesn’t match the water level marker on the carafe. A “4” on the side mark makes noticeably more coffee than a “4” on the carafe. So I had this unit at a 3, but have lowered my standards and it’s now a 4. There just aren’t any really great 5 cuppers out there right now. This one is not great but is very good.Thoughts for the engineers: See if you can make the lid open wider than 90 degrees and still drain condensation water back into the tank. That would help with pouring space. Two other options: make the unit a bit taller so the carafe can be slimmer. Third, make it a little wider at the top so the tank opening can wrap around the sides of the filter holder a bit–enlarging the opening for pouring water in. I realize this results in a bigger coffeemaker, and its tininess is one of its distinctives. But it doesn’t have to be as tiny as it is.

Our programmable 12 cup Krups coffee maker finally broke down after faithful (sometimes muti) daily use for over six years. We received this one the same day it was ordered and set up was quick and easy- a fast wipe down on the outside and two runs of just water.Pro’s: Very sleek and attractive. We knew that it being a10 cup machine it would be smaller than our old one, but the size difference to the 12 cup is very noticeable. The water reservoir lid snaps shut- I don’t know if it makes it less easy for debris to get in, but it feels like it now. The coffee brewed quickly and tasted great- idk if it’s a Krups thing because the old machine did this too, or if all coffee makers have this issue (it’s been over six years since I’ve used any other brand) but about half a cup of water is lost to condensation so we always add an extra half a cup of water now. Comes with a reusable filter.Cons: It’s supposed to be 10 cups, but because they measure a cup as 5 oz you’re making less than you think. The warming plate turns off after only an hour and there’s no audible sound that let’s you know it’s turning off just in case you want to flip it back on. The space to add water to the reservoir is pretty tight- it’s just wider than a packet of sugar (photo att). We’re lucky enough to have a sink faucet that has an extendable hose so we use that, but if we didnt I’m very sure I’d be spilling water everywhere. There is no clock/it’s not programmable- I was pretty annoyed when I saw that it didn’t have these features, however the onus of fully reading the specifications before purchase is on me. I’m just… put off by it being such a simple machine for costing 60 bucks. So far we’re happy with this purchase and are hoping the sting of the price will fade the longer we have it.

For years I’ve been using another quality brand’s 4-5 cup coffee maker. As my old coffee maker was on its last legs, I decided to try something different.I’ve only made one pot with the Krups, but I already love it. Why? Instead of the 1 2/3s cups of coffee with the previous maker, this one makes two full cups. Having that second cup full really adds to my morning coffee ritual(s) enjoyment. Also I don’t need to overfill with attendant dripping and leaking to get as near to two full cups as possible, so less mess. I must admit I will miss the stainless steel carafe of the old machine. The weirdest thing though is that I am using the same amount of fresh coffee grounds with a bit more water so you’d think that it would be dilute and less flavorful. But there must be a temperature or some other difference, because the coffee actually tastes better. Overall, of the five 4-5 cup coffee makers I’ve owned at my two homes, this is definitely the best.

I bought this to replace my 12 cups Braun. I have limited counter space. It’s hard to find a small one that is not 5 cups. I’ve only used it 2 days…but so far it’s great. I understand the complaints about where you pour the water. No biggie, many are like this. I just tilt the coffee maker and the water goes in easliy. I love that it is so small! And it’s pretty too. Love the blue lighting against the black background. So for me this is great. We shall see how it goes. But I’m very happy with this.

I really like this coffee maker. It has worked well since I got it. I make smaller pots of coffee (usually 6 cups). This one makes good small batches. It only makes a maximum of 10 cups, but that’s fine for me. If you like smaller batches, try this pot. It appears to be a good brand. I think Krups is a German brand? Not sure. It is well made and is working great.

I got this product because I didn’t want it to take up to much counter space and my kitchen cabinets are low off the counter. Super easy to use and I was pleasantly surprised at how hot the coffee temp is as I usually have to heat up my coffee to get it piping hot. I recommend you run a few cycles with water and vinegar before using it otherwise it’ll taste like plastic for the first few brews.
