I’ve had this over a month and have used it a half dozen times, successfully making 7-8 cups of cooked Japanese short-grained sticky rice. The hole that releases steam is larger than necessary, and has occasionally spewed hot droplets of water all over the kitchen counter, but it’s not a deal breaker. The steamer basket works well for a small amount of vegetables or fish.

Used the cooker for the first time and had perfectly cooked rice. I had no issues washing it afterwards. I would suggest that before you wash the inner pot that you let it soak for a few minutes.

I have, for some inexplicable reason, avoided buying a rice cooker even though I meal prep every week. This couldn’t be easier to use or clean. I can make a large amount of rice, do it when I have time (the rice can stay warm and in perfect condition for HOURS), be assured of perfect rice every time, and clean up in less than two minutes.I would definitely recommend this product!

You must REALLY wash your rice thoroughly or you will get the bubble explosion other comments describe. I’ve found that aggressively washing white rice and doing a few minute soak at the end as a final wash to really make sure the water runs clear gives the best results. That being said, it will still bubble and the lid will clang around. This product is a no-go for me personally with brown rice. No matter how thoroughly washed the rice is pre-cooking, a volcano erupts out the blowhole drenching my cabinets and countertops. I purchased this product to make my life easier but I’ve found myself leaving it in the cabinet and going back to cooking rice on the stove.

I have so much love for this rice cooker. I have Celiac Disease, so I eat a lot of rice. The rice always comes out fluffy and perfectly cooked. This rice cooker is reasonably priced and works like a charm. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
