The blue light indicator is a bonus feature. Glass carafe swivels on a stationary base. Base does not slide around when pot is removed or reattached. It sits firmly on the counter. Lid pops open with the gentle push of of button. On/off lever on the handle. I don’t know how some complained of water leaking where the glass pot is adjoined to the plastic rim it sits on. They are two separate pieces bonded together; so it’s literally impossible for glass carafe to leak water where parts adjoin, unless the glass is cracked. I think some people just enjoy writing baseless reviews. Some complained that it makes noise while heating – so does a kettle on the stove, or a cup in the microwave. The “noise” while brewing lasts an entire 5 seconds. The trade-off is fresh hot water brewed in a safe glass vs microwave or metal tea pot. Highly recommend, best purchase in a long time!

I like this little kettle. After a few uses, it was dubbed “Storm Pot” due to the rolling bubbles inside and my kids used to rush in to see it turn on.Beyond entertment value, it worked well… but not perfectly. It largely functioned as advertised out of the box, except I noticed that the handle has a tendency to get very hot at times. This was unexpected to me, and an unpleasant surprise. It was easy enough to mitigate though, by covering my hand when I reached for the handle.Eventually, the power switch in the handle stopped functioning. I’d flip it to turn on and it just wouldn’t light up and start boiling. Sometimes it would refuse to stay in the on position, rocking back to a weird halfway point where it doesn’t function. It was sad to watch the little thing degrade, and by this point it has become fully unusable. But it survived a year and a half of moderate usage, so I’ll buy a replacement and give another Storm Pot a shot. Maybe mine was defective in some way. Maybe a year and a half is all you get from them. Either way, it’s not so expensive I am unwilling to try again.

I hate the way water tastes when heated in the microwave and a kettle on the stove can take a long time or boil dry if you aren’t paying attention. This amazing kettle (which we discovered at a cottage rental in England) is amazing! Water for tea, oatmeal, instant hot chocolate, any recipe that calls for boiling water—-ready in about 60 seconds, depending on your altitude. Best of all, it shuts off when it has reached boiling. Buy it for yourself or for someone who will thank you for it every time they make a lovely cup of Earl Grey.

The only thing I dislike about this cuddle is the hard water mark on the bottom of it where the heating element is I used it once and now I have that little ring at the bottom that makes the kettle kind of look like it’s dirty even if I’ve washed it. I’ve used it a total of four times and the hard water spot at the bottom where the heating element is has gotten worse maybe they should try and address this issue so that we as consumers know that it’s going to actually get worse and how to get rid of it or they should figure out how to fix it so it doesn’t happen.I do like the safety features I like the light that turns on in the bottom so you can watch it as it’s doing its thing I like that it shuts itself off when it’s done boiling I do recommend to be careful after it’s done boiling cuz it is extremely hot but besides the issue on the bottom it’s amazing

I replaced my old electric kettle, an appliance I can’t live without. I’m very impressed with this new kettle. It heats quickly. You know that it’s on because of the LED lights that ring the container. Because it’s glass, you can see how close it is to boiling. One plus is that it’s higher capacity than my old kettle, and many others that I looked at. Since I’m often boiling water for a pitcher of iced tea, it’s nice to have the extra capacity.

I got one for myself (1) and one for my dad (2) 2 Christmas ago and he can’t stop raving about it. I damaged mine(3), my wife messed up the second one and I still bout another(4). No fault of the product, we both made clumsy mistakes. ..it’s so helpful for cooking, and no worry or risk of forgetting and burning a kettle, easy to clean, boils fast and doesn’t overheat. Perfect kettle, great gift for anyone still using conventional kettles.

I like electric kettles. They are so convenient and easy to use. This is a great electric kettle. It holds 2.1 pints (US) which is 1.8 litres. It boils quickly too. it even has the obligatory base unit so pouring water into containers is always easy. It could be the perfect kettle. In many ways it is the perfect kettle and I highly recommend it. If you buy this you won’t be unhappy and it’s well made and priced well. It’s not perfect thoughThe base plate feels a bit flimsy and isn’t quite flat so the kettle wobbles a bitThe cord is about 6″ too short for easy placement of the base unitThe level indicators are printed black on the glass body of the kettle and are difficult to see.You can live with all of the above though and it’s still a great kettle. This is my third electric kettle in 20 years. I expect them to last and don’t mind paying for quality. This has bits that it doesn’t need. The blue LEDs that light up when the kettle is on. I hope they are reliable and not needed for the boil functionality if they fail. The lid has a push button catch where a simple latch would be better. Again, I hope it doesn’t stop the kettle from working when it fails.Having fancy touches and catches doesn’t stop this from being a great product. The hard to read scale just might. I’m happy enough with this right now and I do recommend it highly.
