I usually wait about 45 sec fr warmup. I bought this to cook ground meat and also veggie burgers. Takes less than 6 min form start to finsh for one quartwr pound burger. I do have to be careful of moisture accumulating in the lid, which will drip on nearby surfaces if I am not very careful. It is the perfect size for my needs. I have done all my cooking at 275 F. I find it easy to clean. I borrowed an infraded camera and it appears the surface temperature is quite even. I think the venting could be improved, but that could also be my inexperience with this product. It was worth the price I paid.

I liked the small size, it did smell when I first plugged it up. I do wish you could place it in water to clean it.

It helps to read the reviews as they give you tips and ideas of what to look for and be aware of. I love this pan and use it at least once a day. I’ve had it for about 2 months. You have to know your way around a kitchen a little to understand how to get the best out of this skillet. You can’t just put food in there, turn it on and walk away. However, since it cooks fast you don’t have to hover over it for too long before your food’s ready. I will buy another one whenever this one goes out (assuming this one last me at least a year). Bought in Sept of 2022

Iโve owned electric skillets since 1967. This is the best Iโve ever had. Holds temperature and cleans like a dream!

For a small skillet, the NESCO is easy to use and maintain. This is my second small skillet as I returned the first one for the same reason: the temperature control allows really wide swings in temperature from the set temperature. Temperature cycles maybe 100ยฐF and not necessarily with the setpoint in the middle of the swing. Examples on the NESCO: setpoint 275F, high/low temps dare 359F/273F. Setpoint 325F, high/low are 434F/319F. Setpoint 425F, high/low: 522/401. This wide temperature swing, tested with an infrared thermometer, was typical of both skillets I tried (one being Amazon’s choice). I suspect that is the norm. We are keeping the NESCO but feel manufacturers could and should do better.

I bought it December 20, ’21. Today, on December 1, 2022, I bought a different brand 8-inch electric pan to replace it. I loved it’s size and shape, and for 10 months I was pleased with its performance. But suddenly it won’t achieve temperature anymore, or hold it once I get it there by turning up the setting higher. I set it for 375, it shuts off after 250. I crank it up, get it hotter, but it won’t hold it, plunges back down to 250 or so. (I have a laser temp gun and can accurately measure the temperature.) It is now junk and worthless. If it had lasted more than a year, I very well might have bought it again because I was making some excellent one-person hash browns with it (thus a fair 3 stars) but 11 months is just a non-starter. You can’t get 4 stars out of me for that. Wish me luck on the next brand.Edit: I wanted to edit this to say that I estimate I used the frying pan about twice per month. Like I said, I bought it to make small portions of hash browns (the size allows the oil to stay relatively collected…under the potatoes where I need it). As much as I love hash browns, I still only made them about twice a month.

Nice size, and easy cleanup.

Iโve been needing a small cooker for some time and I just can never find any in stores, so Iโm thankful they have the kind I like on here. They worked just like our bigger ones, easy to work with and easy to clean.
