Being completely honest, I was skeptical when my wife insisted we get this. I accidentally broke the last coffeemaker’s carafe and it was going to be +$30 to replace just that, so…There is no ‘blending power’ rating here (this form asked for one) because this model doesn’t have a blender, we didn’t want one. This design is great and easy to use. I like the removable water tank, much easier than pouring water from the carafe down the back of the old coffeemaker trying to fill the interior reservoir. The included wire mesh filter is sturdy, easy to dump out and clean, and saves money on paper filters. I like the ‘rich’ setting, slightly stronger than the ‘normal’ mode. (psst, if you like sugar in your coffee, mix it in with the grinds in the filter.. and if you like iced coffee, pour leftover coffee into an ice tray and use coffee cubes so your iced coffee won’t get watered down)Finally, we started using the “Ninja CE251 Programmable Brewer, with 12-cup Glass Carafe” (in case they change/update models since my order) this month, Nov.2022, and will post an update if something goes wrong, malfunctions, etc. Sorry, I won’t think to update this unless something goes sideways.

It’s a good coffee maker. I lean towards preferring the flavor pour-over Melitta coffee filter I used to use. I bought the Ninja because I wanted to reduce my workload in the kitchen at breakfast time. Doing pour-over means going back and forth to the stove several times to ensure you have added enough water also, I used to prefer stirring the grounds as I poured hot water over them. After an initial setup, there is no babysitting so Ninja makes breakfast prep more relaxing. The coffee flavor is very good, but not quite as full-bodied as the pour-over, but still good and the work reduction is well worth the difference.A minor point: The Ninja tells you that you are ready to pour coffee by sounding 5 beeps. I wish that there was a light that also told me the coffee is ready. The reason is that I often have to leave the room and when I come back it’s a guessing game as to whether the maker beeped or not. A light would solve this problem.Later: my error. The “brew” light on the brew button flashed very slowly during the brew and shuts off when finished. So, this maker does tell you when the brew is finished. This coincides with the beeps it gives off indicating the same.

We had a basic 12 cup coffee pot previously that lasted us over 3 years. When that one finally bit the dust, I decided to step up the coffee game a little by going with Ninja because I’ve had a great experience with several of their products over the years, including a coffee station I had back in 2017. I purchased the 14 cup carafe so my husband and I would both get 2 full mugs (we have jumbo mugs) instead of 1 1/5 each. This coffee maker is faster than the previous one, which is great because the coffee seems a little hotter than the old one got by the time I get up each morning.I can see how people who have a cabinet above their coffee maker would be slightly off put by the top design of the coffee filter bay, having to lift it up and out instead of a side swing hinge. That would be an improvement I think. My BIGGEST concern is EVERY TIME we pour coffee, it gets all over the counter. We are not noobs at this game, we’ve been pouring coffee for many years lol and have adjusted how we pour, the angle of our pour, etc and still find the spout on the carafe must be a flawed design. The spout seems too wide and shallow, and it leaks down the cup, down the pot, and onto the counter. If the spout had a deeper and more defined groove, I think it would direct more coffee into my cup where I want it. ?

I just returned the first Ninja coffee maker that I ordered. I really like everything about the coffee maker, but I had a very difficult time getting the carafe in and out of the bay. I looked through the manual and troubleshooting guide, but didn’t find any info. After playing around with things that I thought may be the problem with no luck, I decided to return it. I liked everything about it, except the struggle to force the carafe in and out. Turns out when I got a replacement coffee maker, I realized that even if the lid shows that it is locked in place, it has to be in just the right way to fit correctly in and out of the bay. I think the top can’t be pushed down to much either? Not sure about that.I’m keeping the replacement, because the features work perfectly for me and it makes good hot coffee. I’m thinking I will get used to managing the lid on the carafe.

Easy to set up and use. Water level easy to see and control. Brew strength settings appear (to my tastebuds) to work as stated.Coffee pot lid isn’t the easiests to set in place but, once it’s set (it’s only an extra 1-3 seconds to set right) I know the lid will stay in place SO absolutely NOT an issue.I read (I believe in a scientific journal article) that paper filters help to remove certain coffee bean substances that can be detrimental, so I bought this to move from using a wire basket to a basket with a filter. The filters have not hindered the flavor.

I decided to try this after many years of using Cuisinart drip coffee makers because of the great reviews. I am very happy so far after a couple of weeks. The Cuisinart was great, but I always found it hard to pour the water into the reserve without spilling it or having water left in the pot. The design of this pot is that the water cartridge has a handle and can be taken to the sink and filled very easily. I love this part of the design. I worried the entire maker would be too wide, but it’s only barely wider than the old one. The taste is excellent. The brewing features of classic or rich work for me because I like darker roasts and the rich setting has been perfect so far. The setting to brew a small batch also has worked well when needed. Easy to clean. I also like the lid design which kind of locks in place, it feels more sturdy. I found brewing time to be just right. Overall, so far I’m very glad I tried this brand.
