This steamer lasted TWO DAYS! TWO!It flooded my microwave several times tonight. I thought the H2O kept boiling over because the steam vent or the entire maybe top was finicky, though I didn’t have any problems with last night’s frozen corn niblets. It was’t until the finishng butter on this evening’s peas was pooled in the MW followed by steady dripping out of the MW and all over the stove and counter that I saw the huge crack along one short end and down the bottom center. I don’t know if it cracked last night while I was handwashing it or if it cracked tonight while I was abusing it w/ my Birdseye Tiny Tender peas, regardless, it is worthless now!I do very little plastic in the DW. I think it damages the polycarb plastic over time. The clear rigid stuff like measuring cups and stainfree bowls crack after awhile, probably from the extended hot cycles, and if the stuff lasts longer (and stays scratch-free) with a quick handwash, what the heck, I’m retired and have the time. But, I do NOT have the time to change out bowls in the middle of prepping a meal! We’ll see tomorrow if Nordic Ware’s ” five year warrantee ” is for real. If not I’ll eat this $15.00 piece of junk but I’ll be returning the rest of the microwave cookware, mixing bowls and the 2 half sheet and jelly roll sheet baking pans I also ordered. That stuff is still in the packaging.I will update later.

My family likes things like string bean with garlic and olive oil. I think dare use those in the steamer.
Way Easy –
I bought this to make fish from Costco. Itβs too big for a piece of fish. The lid doesnβt fit very securely for it to really steam correctly. Thereβs a plastic piece that sits in it thatβs supposed to keep it off the bottom and Iβm not sure it really serves its purpose. Itβs too flimsy and not quite as good as the nordicware I was used too. Iβm still looking for something as sturdy as the nordicware bowl and lids I have but smaller for a piece of fish.

Our old steamer broke and we were looking for another one that was large enough and deep enough to steam. This is perfect!!

Too small and cumbersome to microwave fresh vegetables. Interior section easily falls out. After trying to use if several times, I threw it away. Not even recyclable!

Perfect asparagus every time. However, I tried to use it as a general microwave dish and put something cheesy in it. The cheese stuck and left some residue that won’t come out. Despite the minor cleaning issue, it works well and I still use it often.
