I really enjoy my hot dog steamer. The hot dogs came out perfectly cooked along with perfectly steamed buns. The hot dogs were reminiscent of the time I was in New York and had hot dogs from a hot dog cart. Some of the best hot dogs I ever had. My entire family all had wow moments as we bit in. On the negative side the unit seems flimsy, its plastic. Its easy to use but because of the steam it gets hot so keep little ones away.A true review of a product comes when you compare it to alternative ways to cook a hot dog. Most of us probably had hot dogs cooked in a microwave. Just stop doing that. Those hot dogs end up having all flavor zapped out of them.Boiling a hot dog in water ends up with water logged hot dogs that are tasteless.A method we all have used at one time or another the BBQ grill. Hot dogs cooked over charcoals or even wood chips come out crispy in areas and look like other areas were spared the flames. These tasty hot dogs rate in 3rd place or tied for because gas also cooks in a similar fashion with a slight difference in taste.Hots on a griddle is another popular way to make hot dogs. This is usually found in diners or now thanks to lower prices in many homes. Hot dogs can sometimes taste a little greasy. The only method I’ve found that came close to the hot dog steamer was the hot dog roller. Like the steamer its very affordable. Hot dogs cook up plump, evenly cooked, extremely tasty. My family was divided on which they liked best, the steamed or the rollers. I was the deciding vote. The steamer won out. The hot dog roller was much more difficult to clean. The steamer cleaned up fast. It was more compact compared to the roller. The steamer cooked up more hot dogs then the roller did and the roller couldn’t handle the buns.I really like this unit and give it top marks for taste, ease of cleaning, ease of use (its very intuitive), and its not a space hog. I totally recommend this steamer to anyone who wants to experience a tasty mouthwatering hot dog.

I bought this for my grandkids – compared to other machines it was fairly inexpensive. I have to say it works pretty good . As everyone has said , put the buns in last . Worked perfectly. The hot dogs came out really good – the machine is made of plastic and is very light , easy to clean . So don’t expect some heavy duty machine – it does what it made to do and is cute . Hopefully it won’t beak easy . Time will tell

I bought this for a graduation party so the kids would have hotdogs whenever they wanted and have used it for 2 parties already. It’s a great little hotdog steamer! The hotdogs taste great and they are ready quickly but a couple of things to know; nobody knows to look under the top for hotdog buns so those get mushy! And if you leave the hotdogs in the steamer too long they turn grayish ( I threw out a lot of dogs the first time!) If you want to make a full tray for a party, I’d recommend steaming them and then taking them out and serving them on a tray. Or only putting in a couple at a time when someone wants one, but during a party this can be inconvenient. But I’m overall happy with the purchase and know it will get a lot of use, especially with football watching season coming!

I was so impressed with this product! I bought it for a work event and I’m so happy I did! It was fun, different and the hot dogs were delicious! I think some people that rated this product negatively are unrealistic about what they expected. It’s not an expensive product so it’s not going to be something that is used in a 5 star restaurant. This is a good product and is well worth the price!

Purchased this machine as a gift and was pleasantly surprised at how well it cooks hot dogs. Two notes – don’t leave hot dogs in too long (a few split open) and only put rolls in steamer right before serving, else very soggy buns!
