This hotplate is attractive and sits very stable. The stainless steel surface does get very hot, so be careful not to use around children. I was concerned that it would heat high enough to boil water – it does. I have cooked pasta, rice, etc., with no problem. Burner surfaces stay hot for quite awhile after shutting down; take care in touching/storing.

My family bought this as we don’t currently have a working stove. I thought I would be able to make a few small things on it, maybe scrambled eggs or pancakes. But it turns out that it works so much better than I thought it would. The heat seems to be evenly distributed and it heats up quickly. I haven’t tried boiling water with it, but I’ve cooked things like veggie burgers, steamed veggies, scrambled eggs, fried eggs and even ramen (I cook mine in a pan with very little water). It has excelled at everything so far. It is very easy to clean and easy to store. I”ll likely keep using it in the future when we have extra dishes to use during the holidays or even if we ever decide to go camping. I highly recommend this.

Works as expected. I use it mainly to brew black tea as black tea need time at very high temp (205-210) to brew properly otherwise the color and the taste will be very weak. And this hot plate can keep the tea pot at any temperature. 1 is too high (will boil the water) but you can go much lower than 1 so it is great. The only issue is that it is too big for a tea pot base but I couldn’t find anything smaller that is as good working and as beautiful. FYI I use a glass tea pot which has a flat base.

We bought this to use while traveling to heat up frozen foods. It heats up fast and cooks food well. It’s just like our regular stove. We only need to be careful because it’s a smooth surface so pots or pans can slip if not kept stable. Also after a few uses the hot plate is discolored or has a patch like thing formed on it As far as it is working well, we are fine with it.

La compré en septiembre y la hornilla grande está sañada. No quiero hacer daño a nadie pero es bueno que la gente sepa la clase de producto que está comprando. Al principio trabajaba muy bien pero luego de un día para otro el quemador grande no está trabajando bien osea no retiene el caliente. Para mi no es gusto por que pensé que estaba haciendo una buena inversión.

Sometimes you don’t know how much you need something til you get desperate. As someone with very serious medical conditions and dangerous life challenges I need hot food to remain hot the entire time I’m eating. Nothing else worked as well as this. Covering the plate with cloth only went so far.. product heats up well and fast. Unplug stays warm 10-15 min which means that while cors is not long enough? I can plug to start with and unplug at the table and if I need to plug it back in. Thank you

Great little burner. Works as advertised, still going after more than a year of regular use, and the low profile makes it nice and stable. Mine has had only two problems: (1) the numbers melted off the control knob after a few months, so I have to eyeball the heat setting, and (2) liquids that boil over sometimes get into the crevice around the knob and leave a residue that mucks it up. I’ll buy another one if I ever have to though, or check Ovente first if I need a different size.
