So currently this 1600W infrared unit is only 1 of 3 Payisho products available on Amazon. I couldn’t find any Payisho web site, so I think it’s fair to say Payisho is not a market share leader in kitchen cooking appliances. What attracted me to this unit was the high wattage for a single burner. The burner size is not listed, but using some scaling of available photos with dimensions, I estimated a 7.25″ diameter cooking surface. It’s actually 7.5″ with maybe a bit smaller element underneath. The Amazon listing at the time had a short video of the unit operating at full power. There is definitely audible fan noise in the video. If absolutely silent cookware is required, this unit is not for you. The fan runs at constant speed when the unit is heating, and runs a while after when the heating is turned off. The fan noise is not obnoxious to me – the fan (at lowest speed) on my window AC unit located 8ft away is way louder. I suspect the Payisho fan provides active cooling to internal electronics during operation. During full power operation, the unit exhaust air temp doesn’t seem any warmer (measured by hand, not by thermometer) than the ambient air. So the fan is a head scratcher for me. Anyway, the touch controls feature the obnoxious (to me) beep typical of kitchen appliances. When the burner is turned on, the power setting is defaulted to max. So I have to press the down button 7 times (7 loud beeps) to get down to the 200W lowest setting. No automatic adjustment by holding the button down. No beepless mode. For me, a 200W default or a configurable default, or a silent mode would be better. The model no of the received unit was different than the model number on the Amazon site, but the unit looks exactly the same and is a 1600W unit. My unit was manufactured in April 2022. Packaging was good. Instructions are written in “close enough” English; definitely not incomprehensible or confusing, but not completely polished either. The unit has no markings indicative of any Certified Test Agency (UL, ETL, etc), and nothing is listed in the manual, so if that”s requirement look elsewhere. The power cord itself does have UL marking. The external materials and overall fit and finish are very pleasing. The plastic case sides and bottom remained cool to the touch even during operation at highest heat setting. During operation, there is no cooking surface temperature regulation (burner is always on corresponding to the selected power) which would be ok, but the power settings are discrete and widely spaced (200W, 400W, 600W up to 1600W). The result is there’s poor capability for fine heat adjustment (Compared to the continuous adjustment offered by a gas valve or an electric potentiometer). Maybe surface temperature regulation is too much at this price point. It would be much better for me if finer power settings where available. Maybe keep the current 8 power settings as a “coarse” adjustment, and introduce a down button for “fine” downward adjustment from the current “coarse” power setting. (e.g. starting at 400W, provide fine adjustment downward to 350W, 300W, 250W). If the power level adjustment were improved, I”d but it again.

This electric stove heats up quickly and so convenient, I can use it outdoor for BBQ steak. Safer than using a traditional gas stove. After using the stove, all I have to do is wipe it with a towel. My wife loves the button setting, simple and easy to understand.

When my cooktop stopped working and I had to wait 3 weeks for a new one to be delivered and installed I bought this spare burner. It worked great. I was able to prepare meals without a problem.

I was skeptical when purchasing this since I bought so many thought the month an all of them havenβt work well. I was to a point of giving up. I wanted a portable electric stove cooker vs. gas. I read the few reviews and was like hmmβ¦ should I take the plunge and purchase this one and see. Iβm so glad I did! It literally took seconds for it to get hot. Not only that I was able to cook breakfast ( pancakes. Sausage, and bacon) in less than 10 minutes. Iβm so amazed. All the other ones I had purchased in the pass would take forever to get hit and it didnβt cook that fast. The size is perfect and Iβm amaze on how well this works. I canβt wait to cook other meals now.

There were not a lot of reviews on this item, so I was hesitant to purchase this. In general, customer reviews on all of the hot plates have not been very good. This one costs more than many of the others, so I was hopeful that “you get what you pay for” with buying this. It arrived the next day and I tested it out using a Revereware, medium-sized pot filled half way with water. Operation is quite simple. Within 5 minutes, it came to a boil. It boiled more vigorously with the lid on it, of course. The unit itself didn’t become hot. There is a fan inside that you will hear, which is not particularly loud, when it is heating. Heating appeared to be even along the pot’s bottom surface, although more concentrated close to its center. Temperature settings are in intervals of 200 watts, starting at 1600 and decreasing to 200 watts. Using an infra-red pyrometer designed for food, the temperature of the heating surface ranged from 600s to barely 800 degrees F, obviously plenty of heat for boiling and probably even frying. When the unit is plugged in and not turned on, the on/off light flashes constantly. You would likely only plug this in when you plan to immediately use it. The instructions describe this hot plate as “induction.” It is NOT an induction cook top. It is infra-red, conduction. It heats up non-ferrous pots just as well as the ferrous ones that an induction cook top would require. So you would have no problem using glass or Corelle on this hot plate with the usual warnings and safety precautions ( I would start with a low setting with those types of containers because of the risk of shattering). In the box comes a simple warranty registration card, which is supposed to be completed and emailed to Payisho. There are warnings on what is not covered (the usual abuse stuff) but not the LENGTH of the warranty (see the last paragraph – it’s for 3 years). Contact information mentions a phone number but there is none, only an email address for problems. There is no information inside or on the box about the warranty other than that there is one (again no length of time for the warranty). The product description on Amazon’s web page does not disclose any warranty information, period. For that reason and because there were so few reviews, I decided to purchase an extended warranty for this through Amazon’s Asurion for $8 plus tax, which really shouldn’t have been necessary. There was a one-time $20 discount coupon for this, which I used, and it somewhat compensated for the lack of warranty information, etc.Overall, this unit appears to function very well, based on my limited one-time test use. I removed one star from its overall rating because of no warranty information, which was unlikely to have been an oversight by the manufacturer of this MIC (as they all are) product.I contacted the company via email for product registration purposes and asked how long they warrantied their hot plate. They responded saying that there was a 3 year warranty on all of their products. With that information, I increased the rating to 5 stars. I used the hot plate for 2 hours continuously yesterday using its timer. The controls alternately flashed 1600 (for the watts setting) and the amount of time left. It performed well. Today, I will use it for 6 hours continuously (I’ll obviously need to add water). Inside the pot of water is sitting a 36″ tall, 6″ diameter, insulated, metal, duct pipe with a metal cap on its top. Inside, there is suspended a 30″ long piece of hardwood that is being steamed for bending. Yesterday’s 2 hours apparently wasn’t long enough when the wood cracked while bending it. The measured temperature on the cap is over 200 degrees. Adding water to the pot, some of it spilled onto the hot plate and nothing happened. This is really putting the hot plate through some severe testing and it is performing with flying colors. I am impressed.
