   I purchased my first Presto electric skillet from a garage sale last year. I cannot believe I was ever intimidated by an electric skillet my whole life but I was.My garage sale skillet was so low priced that I took the risk of not liking it and never using it. After the first use I was so impressed and the cleanup was almost instant. I wiped it out after it cooled down, rinsed it, dried it then put it away. I use that skillet on average of 2 or 3 nights a week. That particular skillet is 25 yrs old and was also used often, maybe not as much as I use it but it’s a testament to the brand.I purchased a new one for our summer cottage. After the first week of being without my skillet I just had to get one for our summer place and I was thrilled that Amazon had one just like my garage sale score.

   This replaced an old electric skillet that i’ve had for 35 years. So far it works great.

   The ease of cooking with this over my stainless steel pots and pans is a very welcome nightly edition. I use less oils, easy to cook and clean. The lid is a big edition over the other presto electric griddles because you can cook the meats all the way through faster without overcooking sides and it holds the moisture. Also, has a much tougher scratch resistant surface than the open griddles which developed an exposes ring where the heating coils would show from underneath. This is a fantastic all purpose cooker!

   These skillets are a great investment. Can cook anywhere there is electric. Can make good sized amounts of food in them. Great for taco night or Philly Cheesesteak night!

   Presto 06850 Electric SkilletThis electric skillet not only has lots of room in the bottom but it also has a nice deep lid which allows for cooking larger things such as whole chickens. And the lid seats in a position that keeps moisture inside.The heating element in the bottom heats evenly in all areas allowing the food to cook evenly at the same rate.We use ours for everything from pancakes to hamburgers to one dish meals. Clean up is a breeze. Love it.

   I like the size and it’s easy to clean. Heats up quickly. Unfortunately, heating distribution is uneven. The food on the end closest to the control knob gets done quicker than the rest of the skillet.
