Rosewill RHST-15001 Steamer could steam a variety of foods at the same time, in order to serve a complete health conscious meal. Just fill the Steamer with water, place one to three transparent baskets filled with food atop the base, and then set the cooking timer according to the instruction beside the timer. No worry about the water level because of the safety auto-off and double external see-through water-fill inlets on both sides for easy water refill. Since food cooks faster in the lower basket, always place one basket filled with food which takes a longer time to cook near the base. BPA-free basket is environmentally friendly and provides healthy cook

I miss the “instant steam” of the old Oster 4711 with the analog, sprung timer. My old steamer failed years ago, and Oster’s newer models weren’t as good. Oster 4711 Designer Large 6 Quart Capacity Food Steamer and Rice Cooker So, good news, this item is almost identical to the old 4711, but with a fewimprovements: 1) this one has THREE (3) baskets instead of two, which arenesting baskets and fit inside one other; 2) this one has a extended pocketin one corner that allows the addition of more water for longer steamingsessions, without removing any baskets; 3) there is a translucent window inthe water reservoir which allows inspection of the amount of steam left. Also there’s a safety shut off which turns off the heating element when thewater reservoir becomes emptied. I like the analog timer. The baskets areof soft, food grade plastic, so when they heat up they settle into the baseunit. There’s more leakage of steam with this unit than the old Oster, soadding water can be needed on longer cooking sessions. The same cartoon of foods with cooking times is printed adjacent to thetimer dial, which makes me wonder if this company also manufacturedthe original Oster 4711.The “instant steam” element inside the reservoir seems identical to myold Oster, and I’ve been using the unit for a few years. Although I rarelyuse all three tiers, the third tier comes in handy at times. I actually hada third tier for my old Oster (which I had ordered from Oster) so it’s awelcome feature. The old Oster didn’t have nesting tiers either, so againthis unit is an improvement over the old one.The old 4711 needed a sealing ring between the tiers which worked well. There was no steam leakage, but then the tiers didn’t nest together, theywere identical to one another. This unit has three nesting tiers which areall different from one another.Warning, the new plastic is translucent, not transparent, and is flexible. When the steam hits it, the plastic conforms, and if it cools off in an oddposition it will temporarily deform. This is BPA safe, I’m not convincedthat the old Oster 4711 was, since it was made before the BPA warningswere made public.I recommend this steamer. I’d buy it again. בס״ד

This is one of the best appliance purchases that I have possibly ever made. It’s very easy to use and fool and fail proof. You just put your items to be steamed in the appropriate tiers and it’s done within the designated time with hardly any cleanup afterwards. I’ve steamed rice – and by rice I mean brown rice – to perfection and brown rice is the hardest to cook of any rice. The ratio for rice is 1:1 and you could use 1 cup of broth to even flavor your rice more. I’ve done marinated chicken in the bottom tier with veggies in the upper tiers and the flavorful drippings from the chicken (they fall into a drip tray) can be reduced into a sauce for your veggies. I think I’m going to try a crab steam with crab legs and clams and sausage on the bottom and corn and potatoes in the upper tiers. And then the crab drippings mixed with butter and spices can turn into a dipping sauce! And potatoes of any color steam up lovely. Nice and fluffy and just a perfect texture. The only problem that I have is that of course you do have to add flavor afterwards to anything isn’t previously marinated. If you don’t marinate foods they will be just steamed foods which is great if you’re into improving your sodium or sugar intake for health. As a comparison, you can of course bake or boil veggies in a broth but the steamer does not allow food to cook in a broth unless you put the food in a container with broth and then set the container in the steamer tier. You can salt and season food in the tiers but be prepared to add additional flavorings after the food is cooked. And I also steamed an egg and it came out comparable to if not better than a boiled egg. Why would you steam an egg you ask? – because I saw it on You Tube and had to try it that’s why :-). And it worked. This is a really healthy, fun and convenient appliance. After cooking marinated chicken and brown rice to perfection, I’m convinced that this gadget can probably cook anything! If you’re on the fence, just go ahead and get it. You’ll be pleased with your purchase!

The Rosewell food steamer is relatively easy to use except putting the steaming baskets together is a bit like putting a puzzle together. Overall, I love the simplicity of the Rosewell steamer and how easy it is to clean. The one negative is trying to stack the steamer baskets together — it would have been easier if the baskets were numbered showing the correct order of placement.Once the baskets are in place the steamer is very easy to use, especially since there is a timer you can set to help track the cook time.Clean up is a breeze as everything except the base is dishwasher safe.Four stars based on the difficulty in getting the steam baskets in the right order of placement.Recommend.

It works very well the only issue is it feels a bit unstable when stacked versus other ones I have had. Easy to clean and heats up fast as well
