We were pleased with our buttons-in-the-door Samsung microwave until it failed after 18 months, throwing a “5E” error: keypad not detected. Online videos suggested that steam from the stovetop can damage the electronics. I pulled everything apart and cleaned the connections but that didn’t fix the problem; parts weren’t available due to pandemic supply chain snarls. Had to buy a new microwave.Running the fan while boiling water on the stovetop might prevent such damage.If you DO have to replace parts, it’s not hard. Remove two screws from the vent cowling (top, behind the door) then slide it left to remove. Unplug one wire connector and the door lifts free. All the plastic door parts are snapped-together plastic; remove them one by one from the interior side, starting with the square around the window, until you reach the tiny motherboard. A ribbon cable connects it through the door to the keypad. Once that’s disconnected, the glued-on keypad can be carefully lifted off from the exterior side.

I have read the bad the reviews about the microwave oven, before I place the order, I never expect this worst condition. The box doesn’t looks bad, but the microwave oven has been damaged at the top right side when the box is opened. I have to take it to UPS to return it, it is extremely heavy. I should believe the painful experiences of other people, and not take the risk.

We loved the flat panel look of this microwave with no handle sticking out. However, it lacks many basic features that far less expensive microwaves have, such as: No express for 1-5 minutes, and the add 30 seconds buttons is not express either, always requiring to also push Start . The defrost feature does not allow to input a time. The soften/melt button is preset and also does not allow to input your own time. Finally, the clock does not hold its time and loses about 4 minutes a month and needs to be constantly reset. Above-stove microwaves are not easy to install, so we do not would not buy this one again.

Was excited to find this microwave. Box was in good condition when it arrived. However on unboxing found that the unit was damaged and that the damaged area would prevent mounting. Immediately sent it back.
