ok so for those who want a decent wine fridge this one is ok. I haven’t had any issues with it since purchased. I let it set 1 week in the upright position before unboxing (being careful not to tilt or lay it on its’ side) back in early March 2021. Has been running fine ever since. I have not tested the accuracy of the temp so I can’t vouch for anything on the temp. BUT the noise this thing puts out is louder than my full size fridge/freezer side-by-side. Again, the aesthetics is pleasing, functionality is as expected but the noise level I feel is louder than it really should be, you can hear it kick on and off and running once it kicks on. OH it also cycles like every 6 minutes or so.. So, kicks on and runs for less than a minute usually, turns off for bout 6 to 10 minutes, then kicks back on. sort of annoying and tells me that the insulation of the unit is not that great if it is having to cycle so much to maintain a steady temp. Just additional information, the wattage usage is 144 running watts (1.2amps) for those that are more energy conscious. Hope that information helps in your decision.

So had been storing my wine in an old Cd/dvd storage case. It was pretty big with a lift up lid and drawer. Seemed to work out ok for a while but then found this! The problem with keeping wine in the basement is that the temperature fluctuates. Now worries with this wine cabinet. I keep mostly reds and a few whites all in there at the same temp- 58. Seems perfect. I started drinking red wine a bit chilled after a trip to Italy where it was served to us like that. Haven’t looked back since. I got the one with room for 18 bottles. There are, I think, ones with different temperature zones but can’t say anything about them, but might be worth looking into if you like you whites really cold. Definitely worth the money, and very quiet.

I’ve had this refrig for some few weeks now, and the thermometer I put inside says it’s keeping the temp close if not right on my setting. My wife finds that if there aren’t bottles on each shelf it makes some noise, but it’s not a big problem. Besides, I should have the thing full, right? The LED light works nicely, too. All in all, I’m very satisfied. I’d give it a 5-star rating if it weren’t for the wife’s noise complaint.

I really like this wine rack. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because my larger wine bottles don’t fit. I am not talking large champagne bottles, just regular red bottles. Calling it an 18 bottle capacity is a stretch.

This is my second purchase of the Schmecke wine fridge. The first one was defective and didn’t cool right out of the box. When I called customer service via the phone number provided, someone actually answered and they were in the United States. The representative was very helpful and confirmed it was definitely defective after asking a few questions. I sent it back at no cost to me and UPS came to pick it up. All I had to do was put it back in the box and tape it up. Because the customer service was so great, I decided to give them a second chance. The second one arrived perfectly and it works very well thus far. I have no complaints other than the temperature light is really bright and there’s no way to dim it. It’s really not a big deal. The unit is quiet and the temperature seems accurate and holds where it should. It’s a very nice looking unit and cools wine perfectly. I’m hopeful it’ll continue to do what it’s designed to do over time. I’ll author a follow-up if it doesn’t.If you’re considering buying this unit, you can at least know the customer service is really great.

Easy to unpackage, easy to install, fairly quiet, looks well made. Champagne bottles take up more room than regular wine bottles. I was able to compensate using 2 dwarf champagne on one of the racks. Cools fast.

I bought one few months ago and I liked it a lot. It’s not too big but can store many bottles. I put two 3 liters bottles in and still able to put 11 bottles of the 750ml ones after. I like it a lot and I bought one for my friend as well.

While I rarely write bad reviews, this needs to be out there. I purchased the $300 wine cooler 16 months ago, and it worked great. Very stylish, temperature control worked well, it did it’s job. Recently it quit cooling at all. I troubleshot it, but to no avail. After reaching out to Schmecke, Gabriel was very nice but said he could not issue a replacement as it was out of its 1 year warranty. He said if it was a few days over they would probably grant it. I asked to speak with a manager who could authorize a replacement. After being transferred to Emory (Head of the department) she apologized but said she could not authorize it as it was out of warranty. I told her I understood, but that I was hoping a $300 wine cooler would last longer than 16 months. She was very adamant and said no. After asking if there was anything she could do, she offered a discount on purchasing another unit. I don’t know why they think someone would buy another after this experience.Anyway, just have some decent customer service and replace the unit. Don’t buy a SCHMECKE.
