I’ve had every invention known to man on my quest for the perfect cup of coffee and well, I’ve found it. GOLD! I struck gold with this bad boy. My last toy was the Keurig, my least favorite of them all, its failed me miserably. When I say I’ve had every coffee making contraption out there, I mean it, and you diehard coffee connoisseurs know what I’m talking about. I decided to go back to far, far away and get another percolator because after searching my life through in memoryville I believed that the best cup of coffee I had produced came from a percolator. But this time, I wasn’t willing to toss money to the wind and go with my gut. I decided to do something I hadn’t ever done before. Research. After reading, my least favorite thing to do in life, a million different reviews and watching I don’t even know how many videos on the art of coffee making and consumption, I started really feeling the French press. Again unwilling to just buy without going to the next level still again and researching the best presses money could buy you, and there are a LOT of choices and a LOT of opinions, after many hours of sweating and reading and considering and fear of making a wrong decision, I decided to give this stainless steel French press a try. For several reasons I chose the stainless steel over glass. This puppy is insulated, first. It’s solid, tough and heavy; very well made. Second. It won’t break, Third. It won’t break, fourth and it won’t break, fifth! After all of my video tutelage I was nearly an expert before this little 8th wonder of the world arrived yesterday. I got right on it. I took apart the press and thoroughly washed all of the parts and put on a pan of water and began grinding my beans. As soon as the water came to a boil I let it cool down until it stopped bubbling. I scooped three rounded tablespoons of my medium course grounds into the press, pored in about two inches of water over the grounds and stirred. Then, I let it sit for two minutes to brew. Then I poured the rest of my hot water I in the press and put the lid on slightly pushing the press down just in order to create a seal, and then, I waited. I put my timer on for 5 minutes. Then I began the decent…. Pressing gently so as not to force the hot water come splashing out and scalding me. It took maybe 30 seconds. Then, the final step of my journey was upon me. I poured and tasted the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had in my life. It’s unbelievable. I can’t say enough good about the experience and this stainless steel French press. I’m telling you tho, at this price which is pennies really, and with the construction of this press, it’s the best thing since chocolate was found. I think of all of the money I’ve wasted on coffer making contraptions over the years and it makes me dizzy. A person spends more on coffee at a drive through in a day than this press costs. And, this coffees flavor and aroma is unmatched by any of them on their best day. You have nothing to lose and the best cup of coffee you’ve had in your life to gain!

Call me impressed by this Secura French Press 17oz. The 304 stainless steel has some weight to it. The walls are thick and the handle feels just right. Even the lid is impressively designed with a lip that controls the pour as long as you have it properly aligned with the designated arrow.I spent 30 minutes searching top french press reviews online and the secura 34 oz was in the top 5 in a few of them. I was looking for a level 4 filtration french press which this one is not. I brew CrioBru cacao and was worried about grounds escaping since CrioBru recommends using a level 4. Secura worked like a charm. Many reviewers state 34 oz is the perfect size. For me, since i use a 50% ratio of brew and dairy alternative the 17oz is plenty big.I do recommend filling up the carafe with hot water as you wait for the kettle to boil to preheat the stainless. This unit comes with 2 spare mesh filters and Amazon does sell replacements. This is the only part that will eventualy need replacing if you’re not a gentle cleaner. As always its best to clean up after use to avoid staining.Happy brewing.

In my quest to find the perfect coffee maker for my new home, I stumbled upon this gem (after being very disappointed with an espresso maker that was not user friendly and an annoyance to clean). This beautiful device makes barista quality coffee that when topped with steamed milk tastes more decadent than a cappuccino from the snobbiest of coffee shops. To steam my milk, I use a handheld milk frother and pitcher duo by Basecent that cost be less than 16 bucks for the two… But back to reviewing my new French Press, it looks gorgeous on my small counter space. it makes delicious coffee. Its super easy to use and clean (because of it’s design, coffee grinds do not get stuck in the filter). And it was super affordable. I am very pleased with my new purchase!!!

The coil ring sealer on my last French press did not quite fit and I had to jiggle it to slide the top down. The Secura top fit is perfect; it glides down. The old French press had a pretty gold metal finish; it wore off. The Secura is solid stainless steel and doubtless will last forever. The old press had a plastic top; I could not tell visually whether it was dirty or not. Dirty stainless steel is easy to detect. The old press was glass and did not retain heat; the Secura is well insulated.]As with any French press, it’s a nasty job getting the grounds out of the pot.

For the money, this is an excellent quality single cup coffee pot. Virtually indestructible. Makes a great cup of coffee. Should last forever and I will never have the hassle of a broken carafe that ALWAYS happens at the most inopportune time. I have tried at least a dozen different types of coffee makers over the years and this one is my hands down all time favorite. I have to thank Bodum. When I broke my last glass, I was stunned at how much they wanted for a new carafe. I bought this whole new pot for a few dollars more! This is a GREAT deal.

After reading reviews I was a little nervous about ordering this but it has exceeded my expectations. It makes a quality cup. Complaints about cleaning, all french presses are a bit of a mess. Complaints about grounds in your coffee or coffer overflowing the spout, overfilling and user error. I will say the screen assembly is a bit looser than my Bodum but despite the feel of it, the screen produces less grit and a better cup than the glass one and I can’t break another carafe! I have not experienced off flavors after letting the coffee sit up to an hour and no metallic taste. For me, this is the harder to break upgrade I was looking for.
