   Tried it out for first time. OK…but not the greatest! Not impressed and would not buy again. but, what expect for the $.don’t think will use very much. donuts on top not done well. even after using tips from reviews. would not recommend. will take time to get just right I guess.

   My daughter Helen had this on her wish list, so my mother got it for her for Christmas, We’ve used it a couple of times, and liked the results. We’ve tried a couple different recipes, and all have come out pretty nicely. Easy to make, fun to experiment with different recipes, easy to clean up.Two things to note; pay attention to the instruction in the manual about making a couple of sacrificial batches when you first use this. No matter how much you clean it before hand, the very first batches are going to STINK! This does go away. Secondly, I had bad results using Pam spray on this. I used both the “frying pan” style, and a can that is intended to be used for baking. Both, in my opinion, gave the doughnuts a bad aftertaste. We got the best results using a little olive oil on a paper towel, wiped onto the Teflon surfaces between batches.

   Recently, I ordered the Bella Cucina Donut maker from Amazon.My husband and I used to go on a weekly date for a coffee and a donut. The temptation was always there for two donuts. After a year of dates, my waistline was groaning with my weight increase. WhenI heard about the Donut Maker, I knew I had to have one. I could have donuts and not worry about calories.My appetite craved donuts, but my brain told me that I could still have two. They were the size of a regular donut hole. Within an hour of unpacking the well-sealed parcel, my kitchen counter looked like a donut factory.My grandson happened to arrive just as I wes starting to make up the batter. Now there were two donut-lovers in my kitchen. My husband loves chocolate, and it wasn’t long before the smell of chocolate floated through to my husband’s office. Now there were three cooks in the kitchen patiently waiting for the lid to be lifted and the inspecion to be carried out visually and by taste. As the lid lifted, a “WOW!” could be heard next door. A large arm, and a small arm reached for the freshly made donuts. With mouths wide open, they quickly disappeared and there was only one donut left. I leaped into action and grabbed the last donut in a lady-like fashion. Out of the seven perfect tiny donuts, only one was left for me. “Make another batch, Grandma, and put lots if icing on top.” The cooks disappeared and left me alone with my new donut-maker, chocolate remnants all over the kitchen for me to clean up. Without complaining, I made another batch, and this time I didn’t announce when they were ready to eat. I plopped lots of chocolate icing on top of each one. AS I went to reach for the first donut, for ME, my grandson appeard in the kitchen. He yelled for his grandpa, “Come and get it!” Six donuts disappeared before I could swallow my one donut down and enjoy it. Everyone needs to purchase a Bella Cucina Donut maker, and hire a maid to clean up the kitchen after it’s been attacked by family members ravenous for home-made donuts. This was a wonderful family event that has been well treasured; all due to having a Donut Maker in my own kitchen. Amazon, you sell the greatest things!!!!!

   Several months ago I purchased what I thought was the donut maker at a local store…turned out to be a mix to whip up and cook in the Bella Cucina donut maker (which I didn’t have). Checked Amazon and found this used one for a reduced price so ‘one clicked’ it and that has been the beginning of a delicious, wonderful, fun, sharing time with my 4 year old great grandson. We work together, he adds healthy grains and mixes with a huge grin. I then spoon the batter into the hot maker…and, also am the one to remove them from the hot unit. Once cooled, he frosts them, or uses cream cheese or peanut butter on them and serves them around. All just a remarkable and learning experience.

   Donuts are great. The maker comes with easy to read instructions. The only thing I was unimpressed with was how small they were. This isn’t really a problem because they only take 7 minutes a batch to make, but it would have been nice to know they were bite size instead of just small.

   Cooks donuts really well but probably too fast. By the time you can pour in the batter and close the lid, the bottom side of the donuts are on their way to being done.I had a mix of undercooked donuts and cooked donuts with one side slightly burnt.I’ll keep trying and seeing what works best.

   I know i have had it for at least 8 yrs…And it is still working great…and has saved me alot of money…i get chocolate chip muffin mix and add a couple tablespoons of Cocoa..u end up with wonderful chocolate donuts that dont even need frosting…they are even better the 2nd day..if the grand’s and adults havent finished them off..Bella makes great products…i now have the bella expresso machine and hopefully it will last as long as this cute little red donut maker has..

   Easy to use
