Not what I thought it was going to be and for the price, it could be better.Iโve been wanting to try a soda stream since it first came out but was too scared to get one because I, for one reason or another, knew I was going to be disappointed.Well, I finally bought one and to my surprise, I was not completely disappointed but not impressed either. After putting everything together, which is easy to do, and reading the instructions I find out the soda syrups have 50% less sugar than the regular syrups. I didnโt like this and I still donโt. After pressing the CO2 button 5 times and giving it a taste test. No one, except for my wife and this is because sheโs on a diet, like the taste. To me and my kids, all the soda syrup flavors taste like diet soda or like Coke Zero. What a disappointment. I mean, if Iโm going to pay close to $200 shouldnโt I have the choice of picking out the soda syrup I want? The push button for the co2 is a bit hard to push so I suggest you work out your arms before you get one.On a positive note, I was able to make sparkling apple and grape juice, sparkling water to which I added the bubbly flavors and that was good. As for the soda syrup, please, bring back the full flavor and let us choose which ones we, the consumer, want to receive.

I noticed that this one is not as consistent as the other sodasteam model I had. Sorry I forgot the model but u had to plug it in (that part I didnโt like) and u can pick the carbonation level.

The older version was easier since you could click the bottle into the soda stream easily. With this new model, you have to screw the bottle onto the stream like you’re threading a nut onto a bolt. It’s still easy but the old way was MUCH MUCH easier. Unsure why they changed the design.Other than that, same result.I do wish there was a way to determine how much pressure remained in the CO2 cannister, however.

I love Sodastream and use it almost daily. However, this model is not as good as my original (e.g. 4 starts) because my first one only required the user to shove the bottle of water against a gasket which was both easy and never failed. This model, presumably the replacement version of my original, the bottle must be screwed into place with one hand while tipping the mechanism forward with the other. I find that pretty cumbersome by comparison…would be fine if I had three hands. The resultant carbonated bottle is exactly the same….same bottle….same great taste. My original was destroyed by some over-zealous cleaning people who, for reasons I cannot understand, pulled the gasket out of the unit which destroyed it (since the gasket cannot be replaced). This new one will get me by and the results are the same…but the “user interface” is another matter.

We have used SodaStream for a long time. The last one broke a while ago and so I decided to keep on with purchased seltzer and soon realized how costly that was. SO. Here is the new SodaStream and it has an improved design …. smoother and shinier black. Nice. They now sell flavors to add but I like mine plain. It is not much extra effort. A few squirts of CO2 into the cold bottle water and there you are.

I have used these for years. Great to not be using so many plastic bottles. But placing the bottle in this unit is very awkward, as it has to be screwed in place at an uncomfortable angle. What happened? The last version I bought did away with the need to screw the bottle in and was easier to use.

I love the fact that my husband was able to stop drinking soda with the soda stream. We didn’t like the way the enhancers tasted so we shopped for others and we love them
