So I had problems out of the box with this – it kept getting an E2 error , which is overheating.Turns out the fan was not spinning on startup, which probably indicates other issues. Reaching out to Customer Service was pretty easy through amazon. In this case, I got the replacement though amazon rather than the seller. In any case, pretty easy. The controls do take a bit getting used to, as it can switch between temperature and wattage, but cooktop heats up water very fast, and doesn’t appear to transmit the heat to the pan itself. The easy test is to boil water – it starts to boil within 2+ minutes and the pot handles remain cool. The cook surface gets hot, but cools quickly. I dialed down to about 400W after a vigorous boil and did notice the water somewhat toggle on/off from boil to no boil. Max wattage is 1800 watts so plan accordingly. The settings for power are in 9 levels from 200W – 1800WThe temperature settings are in 10 levels from 140F to 464F.The overall design is not a sleek as others, but it is still attractive, and easy to clean. The fan is on the larger size, and is also a bit loud, but not terribly so.It’s also a bit heavier then the other inductions cook top I have, but it also comes with a heavier duty cord. It’s unclear if this an advantaged or not.We have some nice quality pans that work just fine with this cooktop, but my wife’s favorite fry pan does not work as it is aluminum – oh well. The documentation is written in poor english, but it is easy enough to figure out.Given the size and weight it will be easy enough to take outside to use in conjunction with the BBQ or pizza oven.

Read carefully. Cook carefully. And be sure that your pots are magnetic. Test with a magnet first.

Like how fast it heats soup. It’s faster then my microwave. The instructions were clear & simple to understand. Pictures on magnetic cook plate are responsive & are explained in instructions. This has become my preferred cooking method. The temperature or wattage use can be increased or decreased fast. There is a timer that can be set to turn it off.

I’ve used this enough times to comment. Overall, I’m pleased.I did notice the the induction coils tend to heat my pans non-uniformly. Otherwise, the operation has been nice or better. Couldn’t believe how fast it boils water.Would suggest some documentation with recommendations for settings for various foods and typical cooking steps. For example, to sauté you heat the oil and then toss in onions. Works fine. But if you want to sauté garlic or orange zest, you want to add them before peak oil heat is reached or they’ll just smoke and burn quickly.

You only know what you know, so I was taking a chance buying this while we were waiting for our stove to be fixed. There are two things I had difficulty doing with this burner – getting a lower temperature when I needed a sauce to simmer a little lower AND getting a large pot to boil. I did learn that it’s important for the pan/pot to be smooth on the bottom, as well as magnetic. Our stovetop is working again, but I’m still using this burner. For example, I was making something in a saute pan on the stovetop and needed to boil some potatoes. The burners for this would be side by side on my stovetop, so to give myself elbow room I boiled the potatoes on the burner. All-in-all it was worth the price. I may still get a regular burner (as opposed to induction) for boiling a big pot of water since the big pot is magnetic but doesn’t have a completely flat bottom.
