THIS WOULD BE A TEN STAR REVIEW if it were possible! ! ! Recently my 10 year old coffee maker went out on me and I had to opt for St**b***’s $5.00 cup of diluted mud while I tried to make up my mind on what type of coffee maker to get. UGGGHHHHH – ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON! Iced coffee & cold brew ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT if done right. Instead of replacing my electric coffee maker, I decided to get myself a Takeya Cold Brewer because I enjoy Cold Brewed Coffee (CBC) a lot more and no matter what you get, Home Brewed is absolutely the two hands down WINNER in comparison to SB. I happened to be in a ‘goodwill-like’ store a week ago and found a NEW One Quart Takeya for just $5. I brought it home, washed it and immediately put it to use. I had my first mind blowing cup the following morning. Now I’m anxiously anticipating receiving the 2 Quart Takeya in a few days and really look forward to being able to brew enough to last up to a couple of weeks from it – more like a week’s amount of coffee. My choice of coffee is dark roasted, full flavored TopShelf Lion’s Maine Mushroom Coffee. The Lion’s Maine Nootropic in this coffee is a very welcome ingredient that’s highly effective.UPDATE: The Pairing of the Takeya Cold Brew Coffee Maker and my coffee of choice is producing the best coffee I have ever had and it’s beyond easy to brew a batch with substance (not diluted) that lasts more than a week unrefrigerated – nearly syrupy. I fill a 20 oz. BPA-free bottle 1/3 full with the CBC and put it in my freezer and once it’s frozen, I add my unchilled CBC to the bottle and Im good for the day. The flavor from this method is excellent, but more water can be added if you just want more brew to drink. Diluted, this brew still retains full flavor. Tons of caffeine to shift your morning into HIGH GEAR W/ CLARITY OF MIND, BUT WITHOUT ANY CRASH OR JITTERS. I guarantee that one sip will have you hooked for life – it really is this great!NOTE:I know everyone has their own personal favorite, but I’ve been hooked on the typically electric coffee maker brew of TopShelf Lion’s Maine Mushroom Coffee for about a year now and gone through more than 20 bags of this EXCELLENT coffee (since October 1, 2021) and look forward to many more. I’ve given a few away as gifts and all recipients have loved it. It is everything the seller says it is and it’s flavor is definitively Top Shelf, if you use the right amount of grinds with an electric coffee maker. If it’s bitter, you’re using too much grinds. I use a very little amount of Stevia and it’s perfect. IMO, this coffee IS SOOO SMOOTH that there is no need for any type of creamer. The Takeya really does make a great coffee greater!I’m from Hawai’i and have had the finest Kona Coffees available. When I’m in the mood, I create my own blend of Top Shelf & Kona coffee for extra special occasions.NOTE: if your current choice of coffee grinds are fine and you notice sendiment at the bottom of the Takeya Brewer just remember the expensive delicious chocolate covered coffee beans we coffee snobs enjoy – LOL. If the grinds are small enough to get through the fine mesh, stir or shake your drink up and it’ll go down without much noticing and if you don’t like that toss / waste your current stash and get yourself a bag of coarsly ground beans or just stick with your overpriced diluted beverage from SB’s. To each their own.

My technique is a large glass jar, put coffee in bottom in morning with water, let sit overnight, put an “ultra fine” nylon mesh strainer on top of my percolator, filter coffee into perc. If you are ok with that level of grounds you can stop and drink. Myself, I like to get the last of the fines out.. so go to step two- rinse out the jug used overnight, put a stainless steel cone coffee filter mesh over per and refilter.Awesome! This cold brew mesh is same as the ultra fine mesh, so you can simply get the $6 mesh filter and it is easier to use and clean in my opinion, less to store, etc. if you have a couple jugs or percs in your home already.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XMLK8MF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09SZHFGSY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very simple and great tasting brew. Grind the beans, fill the filter to 3/4th and put room temp filter water shake it and store it in the fridge for 24 hours. You get an amazing cold brew.I have been drinking this with some almond milk and Irish Cream. It tastes amazing and I plan to expand into more coffee cocktails with this little brew kit.You can also heat up the cold brew in a microwave in case you want to drink it hot. Just pour it into a coffee mug and heat it up.

I purchased this to supplement another cold brew coffee setup I was using (Oxo Compact Cold Brew Coffee Maker). The Oxo worked OK but had smaller capacity and required two steps, leaving you with one attractive small carafe of (concentrated) coffee but another much large brew pot that you had to store separately after emptying the grounds and cleaning it out. With this Takeya pitcher system you just fill the center vessel with ground coffee and then the outer pitcher with water, both to measure. Shake it occasionally and pour out coffee concentrate after 12 or more hours. No need to empty the grounds until you’re ready to make a new pitcher. Fits very efficiently in refrigerator. (I’m actually about to purchase a second Takeya and give away my Oxo.) (I gave five starts for flavor, but suspect Oxo was same.)

This is my absolute favorite way to have coffee now. The flavor of the cold brew is great, and can be made in so many different ways! I’ve used the concentrate for lattes, iced coffee, and just regular hot coffee. It is also super easy to clean, and takes no time at all. This product comes apart easily, and goes back together easily. The size of this (I opted for the larger size) lasts me and my partner about a week. It does use two cups of ground coffee to work, which can be a lot. However, it’s meant to be a concentrate and lasts for awhile.I would definitely recommend!
