Bought this as an economical Takoyaki maker for use on special occasions and it did not disappoint. I had read previous reviews, so I knew it might not indicate when it reached optimum temp., but anyone who has been cooking for a while and knows when a pancake pan or similar is ‘ready” would have no problem knowing it had reached temp. As for the reviewers who said they burnt some and undercooked some due to uneven heating, this is true of all automatic makers. Even professional chefs state when using such a device be sure to move the Takoyaki balls around once shaped, as some parts of the pan will be hotter than others and that this can even happen when using a stove top variety. The key is to keep the balls moving and ALWAYS realize that your first-ever batch is a “test batch,” and you should plan accordingly, so you get to know your device’s hot spots. That said, I went into this knowing that I would have to keep an eye on the machine and my Takoyaki and the first batch although not formed as nicely as subsequent batches, came out just fine per texture and were in no way burned or undercooked. The only thing I wish it had was removable cooking surface/pan for cleaning purposes. Otherwise, it was good value for the money and my family and I enjoyed cooking the Takoyaki as a fun group participation activity.

Pros:- Cheap price- Makes 18 at a time- One button to control it all- Heats up to the right temperature- Small and can fit on a dining table; good for family timeCons:- Short-ass cord, thankfully we had an outlet on our kitchen isle- Indicator light does NOT turn off when done heating, unlike the directions state (I did not see it turn off after 30+ minutes of being on)- Heating is somewhat uneven, one side heats faster than the other- I think I experienced for a moment the electric shock others mentioned. I saw no sparks, but briefly felt a pulling sensation in my pointer finger when it got close to the plate, similar to a shocking pen. It was only once though, and I could essentially touch the machine anywhere else with no shock. I used plastic takoyaki turners.- A bit of a beach to clean. The plate is not removable and the directions say to throw the machine out if you were to get the inside wet (presumably to avoid lawsuits). This means you canβt just clean it in the sink, you have to go over it carefully with dish soap and wipe up the soap in multiple passes with damp paper towels, or probably a damp washrag would be easier.- Comes with metal (?) turners; should come with plastic

Does the jobβI think the irons arranged like a square grid with the lines between the circles are a more effective arrangement. Because of the staggered arrangementThere are areas of the iron with large gaps causing an excess amount of batter to flow in, and it is a little challenging to divide around the molds and causes uneven amounts of batter to each mold. However with practice it is doable and able to make yummy takoyaki, and it was purchased at a discounted price at the time of purchase, so I am satisfied overall, but a square arrangement and precarved grid lines would make work a little more quicker and efficient.

Initially I wanted to give 0 star review for the first product I received since 5 out of 18 baking hole seem to have excessive heat and the burn in a minutes. Then, the seller reached out and they said they wanted to help and sent me another one. It was a little better. I feel much better that they care about what they sell and customer satisfaction.Reach out if you receive a defective product before giving up.

I bought this as a second takoyaki maker so I can make several batches for a large party at home. It worked okay, temperature was hotter in the center section. It wouldβve been better if there were rubber grips so the takoyaki maker wouldnβt move on the countertop. Also wouldβve been better if the plate was removable for easier cleaning.

Was watching old episodes of Iron Chef and saw them use a similar product and I wanted to try! I LOVE it! So many things you can make with it including pancake bites or egg bites for breakfast. I also got the batter and used shrimp for some tasty treats! Only Neg is all the wells didnt heat at the same time, so as they cooked I needed to move them to other wells to finish. Not a super huge deal as this is an additional fun kitchen gadget to play around with

The temperature is great nothing has gotten burnt. The smell at first made me worry but nothing bad happened. Do be careful using the forks given, it sort of scratches the pan.

overall it was easy to use I first turn it on, it got cooking really quickly, and what i don’t like about this takoyaki maker is there isn’t A temp silder there only button just on or off you kind of have to guess what temp it is at by looking.
