UPDATE: I finally was able to remove the screws using a drill with allen key…had to change the star rating because it is truly a great slicer for the money. Directions are still pretty bad!The slicer itself is great, but the directions are horrible!!!! I cannot remove the blade to clean, so I can’t use it (I work with chicken and beef – needs to be cleaned out beneath the blade). The blade has 3 allen key screws but given no allen key. I went and found the right one but none of the screws budge. No directions on how to take blade off. Very disappointed because otherwise amazing slicer for the money.

I have mixed emotions with this slicer. It is very good works well but supper hard to clean. Meant gets stuck in every crack and I have not figured out how to remove the blade. I am very experienced with slicers as I have owned and operated a restaurant for years. It cuts onions and tomatoes well and we smoked an eye round roast and it made beautiful thin slices. I was supper happy with it till I went to clean it. I had to use a toothbrush to clean all the meat out of the little spaces which took me almost an hour. At that point I was not happy. There isn’t any instructions for removing the blade or for sharpening the blade. I gave it 5 stars because the function of the slice is very good for the price.

For cheap Chinese junk it is not bad considering the low cost. I did have to adjust the sharpening stones to contact the blade correctly (pretty simple), the threads on the thickness adjuster aren’t as smooth as they could be but once you set a thickness it stays put, and the meat carrier has a hiccup about half way through its range – I am sure it is a burr that needs to be cleaned up but if you apply slight downward pressure as you are feeding the food into the blade, it works fine. Other than that, so far, not bad, but I saved the box and the packing, just in case.I’ve only had the slicer for 3-days and so far I sliced some paper thin tomatoes and a top round roast beef and I was satisfied with the results.I have some experience working with a few mainland Chinese and the problem with Chinese businesses is that no matter what anyone says, and no matter how much money they make off of any product or service, they will cut every corner possible, every time. It’s been that way for 6,000-years – it will never change.

I cure and smoke my own bacon and this is the perfect tool for slicing it up! It’s doesn’t have a long stride so your bacon strips will be no longer then about 8” but who needs long bacon? Have 2 slices or more ;)! I love it! It also cuts cheese like a dream( harder cheeses or have your soft cheese in the freezer for roughly 30 minutes . Must buy for the home smoker.
