Pros1. I know lots of people are not happy with the sealant, but it is necessary when making smaller portions so your pots and pans don’t get scratched. Your food isn’t going to be marinating in it, so I do not find it a health concern.2. If you can get the proper circulation, the power is very nice for breaking down nuts for nut milk.3. It’s easy to clean, easy to use and the size is just right Β 4. I would say the price is fair. It does not feel cheaply made. Try to wait for the 15.00 coupon that comes out occasionally5. This is ideal for the 1 person household, where the rubber will protect your pots from getting scratchedΒ 6. Super sharp blades! for right now!7. There is content on youtube on how to use! I love that.Cons1. Motor won’t last for an eternity but I would say the warranty is fair.2. The four blade design is not ideal. That’s more of a marketing gimmick. 3 blades are best for circulation.3. What do I do when the blades are dull? I wouldn’t grind ice with it if you want it to last.4. I would rather a seven year warrantyNotes: I purchased this immersion blender and compared it against the Waring Commercial WSB40. I intended to pick the best one after 29 days use. But I kept them both! They both had strengths that I did not want to live without. The Waring’s 3 prong design was elite and gave that blender incredible circulation! The Waring didn’t need the power that the Vitamix had because the design was so incredible. But the Waring was industrial in size and not ideal for making smaller portions. Also, if you do not handle the Waring with authority, pots will get scratched. With the Vitamix immersion blender, your pots won’t get scratched when making smaller amounts but you have to maneuver more because the design is not has good as the Waring. The Waring allows the food to circulate much more efficiently and therefore is the better product in some circumstances. But you will learn how to maneuver the Vitamix and once you do, you will gain ground circulation wise. The Vitamix was just wonderful for making smaller amounts of food and not having to worry about your pots getting scratched. I kept the Vitamix immersion blender for those times when I only want to blend smaller amounts and I kept the Waring for the bigger amounts. Think about what your needs are and match it up accordingly!Β Β —

IMPORTANT NOTE about ICE: I use immersion blenders for food, (e.g., soup, casseroles) but never for ice. So if you’re using ice in smoothies, ignore my review. Sorry, I’m afraid this won’t be helpful.REVIEW: I’ve had three previous hand/immersion blenders. This kitchen tool is used at least daily in my home, so it gets a decent workout. Each one lasted +/- five years before motors failed or parts fell off. That’s pretty good since they cost approximately $45 – $65. My Vitamix Immersion Blender, Stainless Steel, 18 inches cost a lot more!I haven’t had the Vitamix nearly five years, but I have been using it a lot for almost six months. Will it last? Man, I hope so!But, BOTTOM LINE, it WORKS SO MUCH BETTER than any of my earlier ones. This is one powerful little blender. Want some examples, see below?CLEANING: The instructions to spin the blades in clean water work perfectly. HOWEVER, my kitchen is very small, so I clean every food-prep dish the moment it’s done it’s work. Instead, I rinse the head/blades and use a little brush in case there are any food bits left. Works brilliantly.PARTS: Vitamix Immersion Blender, Stainless Steel, 18″ doesn’t come with attachments. Just handle and blender. The only accessory thing I miss is the whisk attachment. And I only missed it the one time my mind wondered while whipping cream and got butter. Heh, that’s my fault. On its low (one light) setting, whipped cream, fluffy frosting, meringue, etc. puff right up faster than ever. So pay attention, remember it’s not my/your old blender :)Some Examples:No-cream Roasted Cauliflower Soup (3 heads roasted) +/- 3 qt: 1 min low (1 light), 2 min (3 lights). For reference, was: 8-10 min high.Baba Ghanoush (3.5 med eggplant) +/-1.7 qt: 1 min low (1 light), 1 min (3 lights). For reference, was: 7-10 min high, with lots of scraping bowl sides.I know this is just a review, but if ya want recipes, just. (Though I’m into heart-healthy, almost-all plant-based food for my little fam.)

The torque of this blender lives up to what you would expect from a vitamix product. I used it first to make hollandaise, 2 gallons, then just to see if it would do it. I used it to blend a 30 gallon tilt skillet of tomato sauce and it was able to purΓ©e it wonderfully.

I have had this immersion blender for months now and I use it almost every morning for my morning smoothies when I donβt buy Smoothie King when I go into the office. I decided to skip the full size blender (cleaning out that entire thing every morning after every smoothie, no way!) and just bought 32oz wide mouth jars to make my smoothie in with this Vitamix. I still have a Vitamix brand, but at an incredible price and I do not have to clean it with soap and water every morning!I am able to blend everything at one time (near the top) in one jar including frozen bananas, organic almond or peanut butter, flaxseed meal, protein powders, etc. I only have to rinse it off on most days or Iβll let it soak sometimes in hot water in a mug then just flip it over to make sure all the organic nut butters are clean from the blades and sides. This takes less than a minute compared to when I used my roommateβs stand Vitamix back in the day, having to wash all the leftover butter that got stuck to the sides. The blender piece itself is easily detachable and thatβs all I have to handle when washing it upside down too. Itβs okay if the connecting part gets wet, it does not hurt it.Save yourself the money and buy the immersion Vitamix! I havenβt used it for margaritas or cooking (yet) but I know itβll work for all of your needs. I only need to blend on a I or II level for the smoothies I make & it can cut through some thick piles of nut butters easily.
