The instructions almost seem backwards. It says to turn the knob to 7 (and it only goes up to 6), and the light would turn on…letting me know it has heated up enough to pour the batter. I turned it all the way up…and it barely got hot. I could put my hand on the plate and not even get a tingle. I turned the knob the other way (to 1), the light turned off…but the plates got hot.The waffles came out fine…and I liked that it beeped when it was ready. Loud only if I was on top of the machine, but when I was in the next room, it was a perfect volume.However, when the waffles were all gone and it was time to clean the machine…that’s where the fun really began. The side of the machines, where the overflow of batter dripped was almost impossible to clean. I was careful not to go crazy on the batter, but the bits that did seemed to go into every nook and cranny of the machine. And since I couldn’t take the machine apart (non-removable plates), I couldn’t clean the rest of the machine without taking a chance of scratching it all up.I only used it once, but I don’t think I will use it again. It would seem the next time I heated the machine…all the scraps and drips on the machine will just cook into the machine even more.The bad news is…I was out of town for two weeks and couldn’t use it right away and now I can’t return it because it’s too late. 🙁 Next time I will definitely BUY ONE WITH REMOVABLE PLATES.

I tried making waffles in this three time and then begun to request my return. Each time the waffle was half undercooked and even burnt is some spots. I decided to try it one more time before setting it out for UPS pick up for return and FINALLY made a decent batch of waffles.The trick is do NOT use ANY kind of spray, butter or other non stick oil. Put your mix in the are waffle maker. Make sure it’s turned on max and leave it in there for longer than when the light tells you it’s ready, checking it periodically. By doing this I was able to finally make regular edible waffles that were all the way cooked through.If this is too much for you, I suggest finding another waffle maker…but I will say finding a traditional American/non Belgian waffle maker that isn’t restaurant price is difficult.

If you want Waffle House waffles this is the machine for you. I have bought waffle makers many times and always toss them. Belgian waffles are just not my thing. My daughter requested a waffle maker for Christmas of 2019. So my search began knowing she wanted a waffle maker that would give her the same results as Waffle House. I put in a general search for Waffle House waffle maker. BOOM! I found it way to easy so it must not be a great machine because it was to good to be true. Let me just say she loves it! I had her bring one over so I could see for myself. Literally looked like a Waffle House waffle. I decided I wanted one for myself but it was out of stock. I waited and ended up paying $10 more for mine than I did for my daughters. Honestly that didn’t bother me at all because my daughters is still going strong. I was willing to pay extra to know exactly what I was getting. This is definitely 5⭐️ I would give more stars if the option was available!

This is identical In size and shape and control features to another brand of Belgium waffle maker I got a few months ago . but this one makes the thin old fashioned waffles with small holes and is what I wanted to replace my old one. However the red light and the green light both shine red. I also had to turn the heat adjustment all the way up to achieve crispy browning. Not as good as my Square 1970s waffle iron but this is the only one of this type I could find on Amazon that was affordable. Had no problem with the waffle sticking on the plates. I use krusteez pancake mix and add a small amount of oil and an egg for protein. I wish it was square and made a larger waffle. I miss my old waffle iron!

Nice looking unif Simple To operate but dumb. You are supposed to Rely on a red light and green light To tll you when the waffle is done. Didn’t work for me. There was a noticable hot spot while cooking. I returned the unit and bought a smarter unit.w

Why does this waffle maker even exist? Man I almost never leave reviews, but this was a disappointment all across the board.The heating element is terrible, and even on the max heat setting, it never got warm enough to make waffles. The light is supposed to turn off after 5-8 minutes to indicate it’s hot enough to use. After almost 20 minutes it still wasn’t hot enough. Just ended up cranking it to MAX heat setting to try to make a waffle, ended up with a soggy limp waffle, even after letting it cook for 10 minutes instead of the recommended 3 minutes.The reviews from years ago ago stated it beeped when the waffles were ready. That feature has been removed on the new model. No beep, lights don’t work. You literally have to guess when your waffle is ready. But here’s the thing.. it’s never ready, because it doesn’t get hot enough to cook batter.The light indicators don’t work as described in the instructions.The lid is loose and wobbly.All recent reviews are the same. Don’t waste your time on this product. Quality of materials and electric components have obviously been obliterated since 2017.
