Isn’t it fun to go to Mongolian grills and watch them prepare stir-fry right in front of you ? Now you can provide your guests with that same excitement with this 1,500-watt electric wok. Simply put it on your table, let the guests chose their favorite vegetables, meats, and tofu, and then get the dinner party livened up with some quick wokking right there on the spot. Although the handles and base are heat-resistant, you’ll probably want to set the wok on a cutting board to protect your tabletop.
The adjustable temperature settings give precise control over cooking–select a high temperature for lightning-quick stir fries or the lower “warm” setting for serving. The wok features a support ledge for warming while stir-frying, and the nonstick interior is just right for cooking veggies and meats with less oil. Completely immersible once the temperature control is removed, the wok is dishwasher-safe for super-quick cleanup. –Ariel Meadow Stallings

I have a friend that is a Thai chef–she went to school for it in Bangkok. Anyway, I’ve learned to cook many Thai dishes from her, but there was only one problem…a wok because I didn’t have one, but she did and thus was what I learned to cook Thai with. I am not sorry for purchasing this wok. I’ve cooked with it numerous times in less than a week of having it. I ordered it right here on amazon.com and I did pay a little bit more money than to have it shipped from a different seller through amazon as it would’ve taken longer to receive. I’m very happy with this wok and I went with it because it was a brand I new and trusted–unlike the cheaper woks on here. I’m very excited and happy to be able to cook my own Thai food!

My mother bought a West Bend Wok in the early 1980’s and it was finally time to replace it, so I bought her this one for Christmas. She loves it, it heats almost instantly, so much so it actually surprised us, to hear and see the oil boil within 10 seconds. We enjoy cooking with this wok, and at such a great price why not. The only disadvantage is the length of the power cord, which is only 25 inches. I give a score of A-. We will hang on to this wok for another 30 years.

Used it twice so far…does its job well, good temperature control, clean up is easy, good looks too.On the down side, the top seems a bit flimsy and care should be taken to keep from bending it. The cord could be one foot longer…seems a bit short to reach my outlets. I have had to cook in unaccustomed places due to its shortness.

After the 2nd use the lid portion developed some odd stains on the stainless – I have never had that happen with any other stainless product .. looks a bit ugly. The main thing is the wok itself works great – I love it – I’ve made pasta in it – it gets hot enough to do that – Of course use it for rice and vegetable – with the exception of the lid issue, it is a great item.

Overall it is pretty good. The bottom is flat and large and more like a pan than a wok, so it is the only thing I did not quite like. Easy to clean, heats up fairly fast, and light weight. It took 15 seconds to assemble, it was just the lid, which my 7 year old was able to do with no instructions.

I got my first West Bend Wok as a wedding gift many years ago. It was made in the USA, need I say more. My new wok is made in China and cooks well but the build quality, especially in the heat control is not even close to my old one. The handles on the wok have already begun to loosen but are easy to tighten. I still like this wok and recommend it for cooking but they don’t make em’ like thy use too. I’ll be lucky if this new one lasts 5 years.

This is a replacement for the one that I had for many years (the coating had worn). It is lighter in weight and the control is a little hard to use. The quality is not the same as my old West Bend but for the money and the fact that it is lightweight, it suits my needs. I guess the saying “they don’t make them like they used to” is still very much true.

Very happy with my new WOK which replaces another West Bend I’ve had for a long tome. I do like the old temperature controller better simply because it had the preferred cooking temperatures various items right on the controller.. The new one has only he temperature on the dial so you have to remember what temp is best or use your recipe book. Still wish it had a single handle so you could remove items from WOK with a spoon. This one you have to hold both small handles to tip items from WOK to plate of bowl.
